SAFC and NUFC since the Saudi takeover

Sorry lads, but Newcastle are smashing you in the Corner Kicks Cup.

NUFC - 194

SAFC - 99

Goals from corner kicks:

NUFC - 42

SAFC - 30

So they are good at getting corners and shit in every other aspect.
Pressure finally relieved for yourselves midweek

It’s an inferiority complex you have, you’re convinced in your own head that you matter that much to Newcastle fans. Some maybe? But the vast majority of the fans I know and talk to, couldn’t care less.

We are on two entirely separate journeys but we now cross paths again, twice a season.

You think that because you’re back in the PL and you occasionally fill the stadium now, that keeps Newcastle fans awake at night? Get over yourself man

We’ve had a couple of trips to Wembley, a trophy in the bag, a couple of seasons in the champions league… Sunderland reappearing in the PL barely registers in comparison.

You’ve done your job this season, stayed up at a canter and thats to be commended in fairness. Now your only aim is to finish above Newcastle. We got to the semis in the LC, are still in the FA cup and deep in the CL. You’re not going to convince me you’re naive enough to think our campaigns this season are even remotely similar despite league positions as they sit now. You reckon if Newcastle only had one game a week, we’d be in the same league position?
Out of the league cup
Out of the fa cup
Not long till you’re out of the champions league.
Your season will come down to hoping you can beat Sunderland at home and trying to finish above us… and you know it 🤣

It’s already job done for us.

For us to be where we are and them where they are in the table would have been almost unthinkable this time a year ago. It’s testament to exceptional recruitment and coaching at our end.

They’re obviously still ahead overall; revenues, Champions League last 16, silverware in the cabinet but nevertheless, we’re doing brilliantly well. Hopefully we’ll get to where they are without selling the soul!

Unfortunately it’s only a matter of time before the sanctions on their spending is lifted either by a change in the rules or they work out how to generate more income to combat PSR.
They will become a major force. Just be comfortable with the fact that football on an even playing field has gone and only the wealthiest will enjoy the opportunity to succeed. They should all have fucked off into the European football circus they tried to engineer a few years ago. We’d all be better off without them by now.

Not sure that will happen to be fair

Matter so much to you that you've signed up for our message board and written a 4 paragraph post about how you don't care.

I think its fair to say theyve underacheived from what they expected (and what i expected) and this season is a bit of a disaster for them but thyeve still won a cup and played champions league just a few years after relagation. is a lot of money to spend winning the weaker cup but we would all be thrilled to win that

Its just as likely the Saudis sell up or (more likely) lose interest to be honest. Then its anyone's guess

Theyve cut back on massive projects at home, the middle east is looking pretty unstable right now, I cant see them throwing money at their vanity project thousands of miles away

You're literally kept awake at night posting war and peace on an Safc forum.

The easiest way to generate more income is to build a new stadium. How's that going then?

Was it worth it though? Without getting too much into the ethics, Newcastle undoubtedly sold out their club and city’s identity and values for the takeover, and if someone had said to you in 2021 that 5 years later you’d have one Carabao Cup (not ‘the Cup’ as you lot try and sing), find yourself a place below Sunderland in the league, and still be nowhere near catching the top teams, would you have took it?
@sungsam can you answer this please?
