It's been quite clear since the full time whistle in the play off final that most Newcastle fans have been gutted we're back in the premier league. You can't stand Sunderland getting any positive attention whatsoever. It's obvious our impressive season back in the PL have made loads of your fans sore. It absolutely destroys a lot of your fans that that little old club down the road has a big stadium and 45,000+ on the regular. Deep down in your hearts you really badly want us to some tiny little club you can laugh at but we're far far bigger than you wish we were.

You are now being bankrolled for the third time in the premier league era of football, Sunderland have lost a couple of generations of fans and have lost 50% of the surrounding areas and we STILL haven't gone away. Nobody on here claims we're bigger than Newcastle but I can tell you something, you's simply can't stand, nor admit that Sunderland is far far bigger than you wish we actually were, or claim to be.

Your obsession with looking elite has resulted in you begging Saudi Arabia to take over your working class club and now slowly, the working class fan is being priced out.

I must admit I really miss that competition the way it was. Every single match felt vital, it just took one poor performance for your league champions to be ejected for a year (or more).

Which is obviously why the big European clubs lobbied for two legs and mini leagues to ensure they could milk the money as long as possible.

It's format has never felt as exciting or significant since the changes.

Notts Forest were drawn against Liverpool in the first round of the 1978-79 European cup! They knocked them out and went on to win the trophy.

Now all the big teams and teams from the same country are kept apart. Load of shite.

It’s an inferiority complex you have, you’re convinced in your own head that you matter that much to Newcastle fans. Some maybe? But the vast majority of the fans I know and talk to, couldn’t care less.

We are on two entirely separate journeys but we now cross paths again, twice a season.

You think that because you’re back in the PL and you occasionally fill the stadium now, that keeps Newcastle fans awake at night? Get over yourself man :lol:

We’ve had a couple of trips to Wembley, a trophy in the bag, a couple of seasons in the champions league… Sunderland reappearing in the PL barely registers in comparison.

You’ve done your job this season, stayed up at a canter and thats to be commended in fairness. Now your only aim is to finish above Newcastle. We got to the semis in the LC, are still in the FA cup and deep in the CL. You’re not going to convince me you’re naive enough to think our campaigns this season are even remotely similar despite league positions as they sit now. You reckon if Newcastle only had one game a week, we’d be in the same league position?

The League Cup is a load of shite 😂 We got to the QF when we were in League One ffs. As for the CL, you were the only English club not to finish in the top 8.

The middle section would be the bare minimum for any English club and you beat Qarabag who would struggle in the Championship.

Added to that, you are only in the CL because Man Utd and Spurs boosted the coefficient enough to allow the 5th place English club to qualify.

£40M? That figure relates to absolutely nothing?

Man City, Arsenal etc. will make around £25M more than you in the Premier League. They'll also make more from the Champions League as you'll be out on your arse soon. They'll make more on commercial deals too.
