SAFC and NUFC since the Saudi takeover

I would definitely have preferred to get beat at Wembley in a play off final, instead of a league cup final, yep.

I would definitely prefer to swap the League Cup for the pizza cup, yep.

I would also love to swap playing in Europe, for a few years playing in L1 and the championship also.

You have had by far a better few years than Newcastle. But you are 1 point above us though, so get those wank socks out and fill em up
Was it worth it though? Without getting too much into the ethics, Newcastle undoubtedly sold out their club and city’s identity and values for the takeover, and if someone had said to you in 2021 that 5 years later you’d have one Carabao Cup (not ‘the Cup’ as you lot try and sing), find yourself a place below Sunderland in the league, and still be nowhere near catching the top teams, would you have took it?

I suspect the vile mags would sell their gran for the Rumblelows cup.

They sing Saudi boys and regularly stand up for the barbaric owners with staggering levels of whataboutery so nothing should suprise you.

You're missing out the part about Mags selling the soul of their club to be a sports washing vehicle for the Saudi state.

I'm not sure "here it's betta to be canny alright for a few years, than a bit shit for a couple of years, before doing better" is some insightful analysis

Context matters, with Newcastle they've basically ripped up their history, spat on Sir Bobby's grave, all to win a Carabao Cup, whilst selling home grown lercal lads, just to buy another £50m midfielder, and then whine about Cartels in the process.

Just another oil club now, albeit less successful, which I'm sure is fine for a lot of Newcastle fans, more are probably pretending to be fine with it, but I'd be gutted if it happened at my club.

Well as i said, i had a soft spot for United and was confident. I should learn. Well I certainly have now!!! The backup button on my tv remote couldn’t have been pressed quicker when the winner went in.🤣

That’s mad that like. Imagine knowing your club was owned by an ACTUAL murderer and tyrant. I know I couldn’t bury my head in the sand for the sake of a few shiny new players. As I referenced earlier, never watch that lot but last night was amazed to see the amount of Saudi advertising, and nothing is ever said about that. It’s so obvious they’re being used but they’re too uneducated to realise it.

Oh they realise it.

They realised it when it was Ashley alright.

Sports Direct Arena = PROTEST!
Sports Direct Branding = get out of wor club

But PIF and Saudia
"Well its just modern football isnt it. Warrabout Etihad"

The only difference is that being owned by wealthy owners stokes their ego. Being owned by a discount Sports chain (albeit a very big and successful one) does not.

Mark my words though, a bad season or two, minimal spending and theyll all be very aware of what the Saudis do!

Yep

Suspect when that happens Amnesty International will have to open a special Gallowgate End branch

Aye exactly, that's when they'll start complaining.

Saw this article floating around Twitter - it's about Fabrizio Romano but contains a this jaw-dropping detail about the Newcastle and the Saudis;

"Khashoggi was killed and dismembered with a bone saw in Istanbul, by an MBS hit squad, before his remains were incinerated in a barbecue pit.

The 15-man hit squad were flown to Turkey and back from Saudi Arabia in a private plane, which, by the way, was later used by Newcastle United for warm weather training trips, since Newcastle have effectively become owned by Saudi Arabia
."

Ticket prices up 20% since the takeover

Pricing out the locals lovely stuff, least they got wor club back

Not only that, but they've done away with the long-standing 50% discount for disabled fans, cutting it in half. The financial benefit to the club will be microscopic, but it might be the difference between a disabled fan being able to afford the match or not.

A cartoonishly evil club.

Canny embarrassing that you were all shouting about dominating world football after the takeover and now the target is to finish above little league 1 Sunderland 😂😂🙈🙈

It’s only a target in everyone’s minds on here. Most fans I know couldn’t give 2 fucks what Sunderland doing

You are all wanking yourselves daft over being above us in your first season back while we’re having fun going around Europe

I'd definitely swap my morals for a trophy.... oh wait!
All they've won is the cup that Middlesbrough won a while back and nobody remembers, and the very same cup they ridiculed when we were in the final a shorter while ago than that.

I'd be happy to win that cup, but those are still both facts.
One League Cup for all they’ve spent isn’t much.
Good job it was the league Cup as with 3 handles its the only one that wouldn't slip from their fingers given how much blood they have on them*

* obviously burn may still need assistance holding anything anyway 😉
