Sacking Bruce

I was at the west ham game at the end of the season they were down and we won, other results meant we were 10th but could have easily been 17th.........anybody who pays 6 million for gardner deserves ridicule...............his results meant he deserved the sack its as simple as that but his mediocre buys were his biggest failure with far reaching effects and are only now being flushed out of the team..........they also effected oneils reign..........ultimately he was poor for us..... but it is the way he blames the geordie thing to hide his abstract failure and lack of backbone as he should have walked when they sold bent and gyan from under him!Its this that made me lose any respect for him as a manager.

2011 really was a nightmare for Bruce.

We started Jan in 6th, we had a strike force of Welbeck Bent and Gyan and the likes of Henderson Steed and Zenden in midfield. By the end of the year our players were the likes of Craig Gardner, Ji Dong Won and David Vaughan. We were in the bottom three and he'd been sacked.

The results were also shocking. Didn't we only win something like 6 games and 3 home games between January and December when he was sacked?

Big mistake in hindsight?

I know he's been bitter since and a bit of a kernt,but

We're still playing pretty much a Steve Bruce signings squad.

Best finish for many years.

Brought in some talent for cheap that we then got good money for (sess, bent, gyan, mig, Mcclean)

Had a squad that scored lots of goals when the strikers were in good form, and had some good , albeit overpaid, players in it.

Did we really sack him for a good reason? I know I wanted him out at the end but I honestly can't remember what I had to complain about at the time compared to now!
so we haven't made as many signings as you'd have liked so it was wrong to sack Bruce?
priceless!
Imo he gets undue stick on here for his transfer dealings when the reality is blind Freddy could see the major culprits in our recent past have been Keane and MoN by a country mile.
however he had lost the plot in terms of how we played and he had to go. Such a pity we lumbered ourselves with the gaelic gonk is all

Would you swap where we are now and go back to where we were under Bruce though?

What 16th or 17th in the table at the end of November with a squad chocka full of shite 11 points from 13 games, one home win all season and three home wins all year?

No

So Keane and O'Neill were the culprits in Bruce paying £2m for Elmohamdy, £5m for O'Shea, buying an injured Brown, buying Sess and having no idea where to play him, paying £8.2m rising to £12m for potential in Wickham when we barely had another reasonable forward, £6m for Gardner, Larsson, Vaughan, Westwood and tying up the wage bill with rank averageness despite spending the thick end of £30m in each of his three pre seasons?

As usual, you're factually incorrect and full of f***ing shite.

what yer on lad...it was a shame he wasn't sacked sooner than he was.. the blokes a liability, watch what happens to Hull this season. out of the blocks like no tomorrow then plummet.

Sorry pal :) but have missed the Nostradamus' bashing of the back end of last season & this thread has brought it all back again ;)

Was in the middle of Poyet's tactical changes and crazy comments in the media, could only see us going down at the time. Over the moon I was wrong mind

January 2011 (pre Bent sale) is probably the most optimistic I've ever felt about the long-term progress of the club, had a good squad of players and we were doing very well in the league, 3 months later and that had all faded away.
