Just do it, why are they waiting? Save cash?

Clear as day we need new direction, toughness, leadership, discipline in the test team.

Bayliss approach works perfectly in the one day stuff. Just do it, we are just wasting time, and wasting series.

He peaked at the win in south africa, which was brilliant, but been on a slow decline since

Tend to agree. He was worked wonders with the white ball team but we've gone backwards under him in Test Cricket. I can't see the ECB upsetting the apple cart ahead of the World Cup next year by which time Bayliss will be in his last 6 months anyway. Also nothing of that magnitude will happen whilst Strauss is temporarily out of the picture

Wouldn't surprise me it by the end of the Summer we had two coaches, one for tests and the other for the one day stuff.

Aye, I agree and that isn't revisionism on my part because if people want to look back - I wanted Dizzy to get the job back then.
Must admit I didn't as I didn't want Yorkshire to lose him. But he fucked off 12 months later anyway so might as well have gone in 2015 to the England job

Stop being so negative, first match of the summer etc

You're spot on.

I tend to agree with Mr Dobell, in that Bayliss has come in and done the job he was employed to do. The actual problem is higher up the pecking order. The FTECB have abandoned the County Game for the financial benefits of the white ball game. How they don't understand the correlation between County Cricket and Test Match cricket is beyond me, but presumably they considered it and are happy to see both formats disappear while they're creaming in the money? All I can hope is that someone with a bit of common sense comes in before we are embarrassed by Afghanistan and Namibia and the County Game has disappeared ....

Anyone happy with ramprakash as a batting coach?

He averaged 27 in test matches, was a bag of nerves facing international quality bowlers.

No doubt he was superb at county level

He'll always have that thrown at him I guess, but then there are plenty arguments backing his position too.
I don't doubt he has great knowledge of the game but the batting in the last ten tests is reminiscent of his test career

Flattering to deceive and no plan to occupy the crease, under the slightest pressure

I really don't get criticising Ramprakash referencing his Test career. He was a very good batsman didn't do so well in Tests, doesn't mean he can't coach.
That's what I said, I don't doubt his knowledge or skill as a batsman.

I do think it's fair to say though, in the last ten tests, we have a habit of being three down before fifty is on the board and when wicket six falls , all out ten mins later.

They must rectify those two basic things and it's part of his job to find a method for the players to achieve that

Being a test batting coach is not just about technique, it's about teaching players the right psychology to succeed. Hardly surprising this batting lineup is mentally weak as piss (58 all out FFS) with Ramps teaching this.

Well yes I know.

Are you saying Ramprakash can't do that? Or are you saying you have to have been a top successful sportsman in whatever field to be able to coach others?

Sure criticise Ramprakash as a coach if you want. For all we know he may be a better coach than he was a player, most coaches are.
