Goes to show how poor our bowling was in comparison.Bar the openers, Aussies batsmen just folded. Awesome bowling from Steyn.
Yes. All other world class bowlers are ever so deferential when they take important wickets for their country.[DOUBLEPOST=1393178342][/DOUBLEPOST]Steyn doesn't half go on like an absolute tit.
We are streets behind this level at present. The current incumbents will be encouraged not to be too aggressive and take defeat like gentlemen. No boat-rockers allowed either. Oh, and pass the port in the correct direction, chaps.Goes to show how poor our bowling was in comparison.
Nowt unpredictable allowed in cook and flower's england. Even what's not broken was fixed to ensure repeatability within 'the plan'. No wonder australia figured us out.Yes. Not on the evidence of today's display. The point I was making is that their start performers (Clarke, Haddin, Rodgers, Johnson, Harris) are all a few years away from retirement meaning they will face the same problems as they did in 2006/7/8 unless they ditch some of the older guard and slowly integrate some younger players, it would be a lot to ask of the likes of Smith, Doolan and Warner to be the main men in a couple of years time.have a lot of talented bowlers at least coming through and a few on the batting side
You could argue that it comes from the top. Cook looks like he's never lost his temper and is utterly incapable of a commanding, rousing speech in the changing rooms. We're soft as shite, that's our problem.
Look at how much aggression and intensity the two teams in this series have, our players look like rabbits in the headlights in comparison. Still can't believe how much Finn has been destroyed by what I can only assume is woefully inadequate coaching.
Bowlers win test matches. South Africa and Australia have bowlers with x factor. Englands problem isnt Cook. Tell Johnson to knock a batsmans head off and tell Broad the same you will get two different results regardless of who the skipper is.
The English buy into the media scapegoat mentality. As a skipper your only as good as the bowlers available at your disposal.
India chopped and changed skippers a few years back with a gluttony of top class batters in toe and never came close to dominating test cricket. Why?

I suppose this is part of the reason ECB have discarded KP - the need to bring in younger players rather than cling on the the old guard until they are no longer any good...[DOUBLEPOST=1393186952][/DOUBLEPOST]

"Get ready for a broken f***ing arm" he said to Anderson. Live by the sword....Clarke is getting an absolute battering from Morkel![]()

Stuck it out and made the hard runs unlike our spineless top order"Get ready for a broken f***ing arm" he said to Anderson. Live by the sword....

Completely, utterly, this.[DOUBLEPOST=1394035802][/DOUBLEPOST]This test is a classic example of why people who suggest test cricket is dying should be locked in a dark cupboard and never be allowed out. Ever.
Notice how South Africa actually made them work for their wickets. Fair play to Australia (through gritted teeth)Stunning turnaround from Lehman, Clarke and Australia in the last 6 months.
