On the upside, he's 32, Haddin, Harris, Rodgers and Watson are all the wrong side of young. It's taken them to find a side full of 30 something's to compete and whilst they are impressive they again will have the problem of replacing the, as they retire[DOUBLEPOST=1392506058][/DOUBLEPOST]Clarke is 32 also. Not many spring chickens in that side.....

I agree, and I they annoyed me a bit during Ashes, but I must admit I enjoy watching them play, Johnson is fantastic to watch and love watching Clarke captain.

Even today, 11 overs into the new ball he brought Warner on just when SA were scoring at 3-4 an over, and he immediately dried up an end, Siddle replaced him shortly after and struck in his first over.

Think SA will improve but I still think that England were unfairly hammered a bit, under normal circumstances they would of won 3-0 and had 2 years to bask in it, a team reaching its end was just exposed.

SA 423, Australia around 110-4, going to be interesting to see how they cope having finally been put under a bit of pressure chasing a decent total

Two early wickets this morning have made it more interesting.

Think Australia will avoid the follow on though.

Australia getting absolutely panned here.

Shows what can happen when you get a decent first innings score, their batting isn't very strong at all.

We're too busy trying to turn our 6ft 5" bowlers into pitch it up bowlers who bowl at 82mph with no aggression whatsoever.

Not allowed to damage the seam for jimmy.

Duncan fletcher is the only england coach in my time who valued pace

We're soft as shite, that's our problem.

Look at how much aggression and intensity the two teams in this series have, our players look like rabbits in the headlights in comparison. Still can't believe how much Finn has been destroyed by what I can only assume is woefully inadequate coaching.

"I've always believed that it's about speed at this level. You've got to be bowling at 85mph or quicker. We've got individuals who bowl at that speed, and not just straight up and down as a lot of them do at that pace, but they swing the ball or seam the ball and that's a huge advantage."[DOUBLEPOST=1393097247][/DOUBLEPOST]

Flower's regime was utterly risk averse. Everything planned out and micromanaged to the nth degree - right down to the pitch and ball condition. The trouble with express bowlers is they will always send down a few loose balls - harmison being a prime example - but that was all too 'unpredictable' for Andy flower, one poor test on a green top and Finn was dropped.

have a lot of talented bowlers at least coming through and a few on the batting side

Absolutely cracking bowling today from Steyn. From 152-1 or so the Aussies have been blown away.

Extra half hour taken. 7 overs or so to polish them off tonight.
