he wont outscore clarke...Was right decision to sell for £10M. But, he will score more than all our forwards put together this season.

And would have done his hamstring first game back. Or sooner, same as Mayenda.Thing is if we'd kept him he'd have been back even later as he'd have been ultra cautious about risking a recurrence affecting a big money move in the summer
With an injury like he’s had you never know if he’ll be the same player and he also wanted to leave.Personally, I think we've pulled their pants down. He was good for us, but this was a superb deal.
I should have said strikers.he wont outscore clarke...
and he may not be the player he was..
We needed recruits in summer and werent in a position to wait for him tbh. It was a no brainer to part ways with him
Big money for him, not us.There wouldn't have been a bigger money move than what we got, he'd have had even less of his contract remaining and his stock would be significantly less (if he doesn't come back from injury all guns blazing).
Helluva sale was the Ross deal, best but of outgoing business we've done since the fee for McNair
Not sure on the finer details but wages / difficulty of the situation/ us needing several attackers asap. The deal helped us move forward. Even if your statement is accurate its 10mil towards january recruitment.I agree it was a no brainier given the situation but to say the money was used to fund new recruits in the summer is incorrect, I would say.
We had already agreed a fee for Rusyn about a week or two before we sold Stewart, so the money must have already been there for him. Burstow was only a loan and we only paid nominal fees for Pembele and Aouchiche if reports are to be believed, so the Stewart money should by and large be untouched as yet.
No chance, will be 2.5M for 4 years more likelyWas it £10 million up front? Wouldn't be surprised if it's based on appearances for Southampton.
This article says £10m, but then says Ross County are due 15% and will receive £1.2m.Was it £10 million up front? Wouldn't be surprised if it's based on appearances for Southampton.
Be interesting to come back to this post in May like. Was right decision to sell for £10M. But, he will score more than all our forwards put together this season.
...could have him on a free within half a season...
Defo mate, said it since he left. Expected him to be playing catch up mind not off a level playing fieldBe interesting to come back to this post in May like.
It was worth the risk for them, they'd sold about £100m worth of players and received £50m in parachute payments. But £10m for 5/6 months of any player is too much for us to turn down, with our strategy.doesn't always work out like that though does it?
we sacked off m'vila because 'we can just get him on a free later' and i think we all know know that would have been the best 7m we could have spent.
10m for stewart was a great deal for us, and it may still turn out to be a great deal for them anarl.

More than decent. £10m for an injured player in the last year of their deal. Outstanding business. With an injury like he’s had you never know if he’ll be the same player and he also wanted to leave.
We got a decent deal
I probably willWas right decision to sell for £10M. But, he will score more than all our forwards put together this season.
A fiver thenWas it £10 million up front? Wouldn't be surprised if it's based on appearances for Southampton.
