Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

I’ve noticed you get very shirty very quickly with anyone with a slightly different viewpoint. If it was the other way round with barbed responses like that you’d be crying blue murder as you did with your thread a couple of weeks back.

I’ve listened to plenty that the club have said and I think you may be misrepresenting what they’ve said previously. Just in the summer Speakman said the aim this season was to be better than last. If the model is as you describe it, and we don’t fill the void left by Stewart and Amad with ready made replacements and just go for longer term potential, then we won’t progress or improve this season. That’s just basic logic.
My thread a few weeks back? Not even are what you are talking about there.

I respect other people's opinions, but when some refuse to post anything other than negativity, pretty much every post they make, it makes it kind of hard.

Anyone who boos him is a complete bellend.

He started every single game of a 49 game promotion season. He dragged us out of League One.

It’s not his fault that we’re on a mission to turn the club in to a cut-price crèche. He’s been offered his worth by a club that wants to play at the top level. It’s a no brainer for him or any other player.

Players will always look for better deals. I imagine even if Luke ‘Mr Sunderland’ O9 himself was offered more money from another club he would have to consider it. It’s just the way the world is. I’m still uneasy about Jack Clarke.
People forget he held us over a barrel that summer before we got promoted. Short career and this move will be life changing for him. Did a good job for us. Best of luck to him

We've signed Dack and Bellingham who are starters in similar positions, and the young, inexperienced players from the start of last season are a full Championship season on with their development.

Do you think they’re adequate replacements and do you think that full season of championship development will result in an improved season for us this campaign?

We'd still be playing fuck if we were buying him . Give him a 3 year contract and hes worth nothing at the end of it too
Is nobody bothered what players bring to the team on the pitch anymore?Who gives a fuck if he is worth nowt after 3 years if he has fired us to the prem.

Do you listen to anything the club have said? Clearly not.

Yes the odd asset or 2 will be sold to find the process, but we won't be selling our whole team every season.

That's because his replacement hasn't been signed yet.
You've got a lot more faith in them than me marra.

Plenty teams uncover players for relative peanuts and make massive profits all the time. If you want to be an eternal pessimist then that's up to you.

My point is more that the model is not to then buy a player who is currently better than Stewart, but a better young player than we've previously bought, who has the potential to he better than RS.

So we sell really good players for money and buy toddlers that are initially poor, teach them how to walk/run kick a ball etc then sell them again when they are good. To a rival for promotion, so they have a better chance for promotion.

Sounds like a great model?

So this is the down side of the model that most posters loved when we were flying with young players.

You can’t have your cake and eat it.

The downside would be selling a day before the window closes with no replacement.

If the club replace him it's good business. If they don't the model is being implemented poorly.

I'm a fan of the model but he must be replaced tomorrow
