Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Played well for us, tried his best, club didn’t offer what he thought he was worth someone else did. Club gets a healthy profit on him. Good luck to the lad and hopefully a decent replacement comes in to take his spot.

compare that to someone like rodwell and I really can’t see why folks can begrudge the lad a decent payday if we didn’t offer what he thought was acceptable. Gotta pay the price for quality when they renew contracts. Buying a similar player in and the wages they’d expect would/will be far more expensive

If he starts doing a thousand star jumps in front of our fans before the game, while shouting that he has been fit for the last year then yes. If not we both move on. The move suits the player, the clubs, it's just us fans who are now left waiting to see what happens next

We need two players to come in now and replace what Amad and Stewart brought to us. If we don’t, we’re in a weaker position than we were last season and that’s regression.

We've signed Dack and Bellingham who are starters in similar positions, and the young, inexperienced players from the start of last season are a full Championship season on with their development.

Are you for real? Did you actually watch the games Ross played for us last year? He was f***ing brilliant. He is one of the best strikers I have seen at Sunderland for years. Pulls defenders all over, wins the ball back loads, defends corners, holds the ball up well, and knows where the back of the net is. He is class!
We'd still be playing fuck if we were buying him . Give him a 3 year contract and hes worth nothing at the end of it too

Nice while it lasted, but I'm glad it's done and we can move on. 8/10m ain't too shabby for a lad who only played 10 games in this league, in the last year of his contract.

I don't wish the lad anymore injuries, but a slight niggle when we have to play them again in the season would be nice 👍

Been a great player for us. Signed for fuck all, dragged us up and looked every inch one of the best forwards in the Championship and despite that we weren't willing to give him a deal that other clubs would give him. Can't blame him for leaving when it's his last chance at a big contract really.

Good luck to him but he's gone now, we'll get over it quickly enough.
