I’d be happy to continue with the DOF structure if it was done correctly. The idea is to bring players in to play a type or brand of football.

But based upon our recruitment I have no confidence that any kind of style of play or type of player are being identified. What sort of idiocy says bringing in Danny Bath, who Stoke fans said was shite with the ball at his feet, would be any good at facilitating playing out from the back. Or that letting a steady player in Flanagan go and not replacing him?

How does bringing in loads of wingers fit our philosophy when we’ve looked good in a back 3 and wing backs but none of the lads brought in are capable of playing in that position? What sort of recruitment team allows us to have one fit striker in Stewart and only supplements him with 39 year old Jermaine Defoe?

Im seeing no benefit of bringing in these players under this model. I get it’s to try and prevent managers burdening using with players who won’t transition to a new manager and wouldn’t be effective in a different system. But I’m seeing no evidence that is even what we are trying to achieve.

Plenty of other football teams allow the coach free rein. It’s either that or we employ a better DOF.

Something has to give as we are a complete and utter shambles and a total laughing stock.

I have called Speakman an amateur. Disrespectful to many amateurs in non league football who would have never put their clubs in this position.

38,000 people at the SOL on Saturday ffs. Shambolic.

I watched match last night. 4 thousand fans of ours there???

I felt embarassed that our club has such support yet cant deliver a team worth watching in the 3rd tier.

Its like a recurrinf nightmare.

Club needs a roy keane figurehead to sift out these idiots. Speakman should stick to bringing players in and nowt more. Fuckin shite handling of key decisions

Keep saying it but some actually think it's a good thing. Is it really necessary at this level is he capable of it 🤔 what an utter pigs ear he's presiding over
In principle it’s a good idea on things like the manager says I like A,B or C now run along and sign them
The manager says I’m going to play 4-5-1 at every opportunity. I want it implementing at every level of the club. Now run along and do so.

That is how I want it to work, not this balloon knot we have absolutely cluelessly destroying everything in site

Its a good point. Bringing in talented players doesnt make you a good team. speakman has been found out imo

My local non-league team in step 5 lost their manager in October. Within 3 days a new management team were appointed. The chairman had been planning for the manager being poached from a team in a league above for several years and had a couple of options lined up.

STEP 5 . . . Organised. Then there is us.

I genuinely do think our setup is mired in L1 thinking and the options lined up are the ones everyone groans about. Then Keano approached us (from stuff I’ve seen here and elsewhere) and KLD did a Andy from Little Britain and said “I want that one” and threw Speakman into turmoil and he threw his teddies out of the pram.

Hey I like this making shit up without evidence thing, might apply to one of the local rags.

Speakman living on one past glory of getting Bellingham through. Reality is that it’s a shite turnover for one player out of how many. He and the rest of them behind the scenes can fuck right off into oblivion.
