Wonder if there'll be a small goodbye to roy hinted at from ITV at the end of this programme..

Mind you he'll still probably cover the odd game here and there if appointed our manager tbh.

Martin O’Neill on Roy Keane and the Sunderland job

“It’s a great fit. It’s splendid news.

“From my experiences working with Roy, I would really want to play for him and I would readily accept any hard words for what the praise would mean if I did something to please him.”
Sounds like it's done then the way he's worded that?

Watching Roy Keane on ITV just now I had a sense he was showing people he’s aware how stress can impact footballers and their families. He was talking about the return of Harvey Elliott but I had a feeling he was talking to everyone at Sunderland.
.. Looked pissed off to me .. If I'd never seen him smile the other day I would have thought nowt of it ..

id have thought that if it was close he wouldnt be on today. There must be shed loads to sort before Tuesdays game. Anything from sorting back room staff, meeting the players, holding meetings with staff to put a plan together, maybe even watch a couple of Cheltenham games. Could he justify messing bout on TV if the job was his?

In terms of token gestures, deflection tactics and nice soundbites that later turn out to be total bullshit the parallels between the new regime and the Donald/Methven clown car are f***ing uncanny.
Speakman was appointed by them don’t forget. The takeover still wasn’t complete at that point.

On a serious note - not sure if it’s been discussed on here BUT what would Keanes wages likely to be??

He won’t come for League one manager wages that’s for certain so I wonder what the agreement could be. £15-20k a week and a massive bonus if we go up??

Intriguing and a sign of KLD’s spending power if we get him. If we opt for someone else a lot cheaper we know we are happy with league one.
