I agree but Speakman putting his head on the chopping block and coming through would have earned him some more respect from me. Sure he’s got his coaching badges.
I don’t think that’s a sensible ask really. It has to be the people who are taking training during the week if we’re honest. No point in speakman diverting himself from the important task of securing the next head coach just so we have clarity over who to bollock. This next week is crucial and the final decision is gonna tell us if this last week has been worth it. Get Keane in and nobody should be all that bothered about yesterday. Fail and I dread to think what happens:lol:

I was told that Speakman was a bullshitter by a Birmingham supporting mate and posted it at the time.

Does every other club have all these repetetive jargons, ‘processes’ & ‘model’

Continiously making a mountain of a mole hill from what I can see.
We do over complicate stuff
Get motivated competent coaches in .
Even this “ they are young so cannot lead”-surely you are a leader or not no matter how young? Very surprised one of the young uns hasn’t stepped up a bit and showed a bit of leadership -aka Henderson or similar.

Fair enough.

If speakman was being honest about just drawing up a short list now then it's staggeringly incompetent a week after the sacking, especially when like you say there isn't a decent choice at the club to step in. In fact, I'm thinking I'd rather we werent doing the "right thing" by not speaking to people while Johnson was still here. We should have been sounding people out so we could move quickly when he was sacked. We were also doing the right thing by playing on when others were taking the chance to have games postponed. Think we need the manager to have a nasty, ruthless streak because it's something we seem to be lacking elsewhere
Yeah sure, agree. IF…

Said this today on twitter. It's his mess, he should have had the balls to stand in the dugout & take the flack. By all means let the other lads take training but should have been him in the hotseat yesterday

Agree with that mind. Trying to cover us if things go wrong - but was probably more sensible to say nowt.

If he had to say anything at all, he just had to say the process was underway and we’ll appoint when everything is right. Talking about fact finding and shortlists at this stage is concerning.

I suspect the reason the interview was done was to calm expectations RE a Keane appointment
