I do think it'll be Keane, unless yesterday makes then think automatic is gone so literally go for a stop gap until the summer where they can look again.
If it was completely gone you’d imagine you just keep Johnson as a human shield. It’s still definitely doable with the right appointment. None of the candidates appeal though, for sure. Moving forward we need to make sure the club has a good candidate in place as u23 manager at all times. The timing has definitely hurt us.

If he had to say anything at all, he just had to say the process was underway and we’ll appoint when everything is right. Talking about fact finding and shortlists at this stage is concerning.

I suspect the reason the interview was done was to calm expectations RE a Keane appointment

Especially so considering (unless the media are way out on the types of names under consideration) that the apparent shortlist is the laziest, most unimaginative collection of jobless no-hopers that any old idiot could put together. More a shitelist than a shortlist, really.

The only thing worse than a quick, desperate appointment of Grant McCann or Neil Lennon would be giving the impression that you've been forensically poring over data for over a week, only to then appoint Grant McCann or Neil Lennon.

We don't even have a u23 manager full stop do we? Another masterstroke

Exactly what happened when we appointed Parkinson. The standout candidate, amazing references, etc.

Definitely shouldn't have said anything. He'd already done the podcast where he basically said the process had started. This added nothing but made us sound like we're dragging our heels, which would be ridiculous given we sacked Johnson so we could have a real go at top two but had very little time to do it in. It really needed to be Johnson out and a replacement in within a few days. I hope its not to calm expectations around Keane because that would suggest its far from done. Either way it hasn't worked, if it isn't Keane now and they go for an uninspiring choice there's going to be a world of criticism coming
If Speakmen messes this up he should follow Johnson out of the Club.

I can see why Johnson didnt want JD in the same way why I can see Speakmen doesnt want Keane.

Keane will come in and shake the whole place up. Long overdue as we are a shambles of a club from top to bottom. Excellent support excluded.

Completely disagree, you seen the games after Cheltenham and Wimbledon… MK Dons, Wigan away are two of the next 3.

Get a new manager in before Cheltenham and we could be going into them games with a couple of positive results behind us instead of four consecutive loses
What do you think they should be doing? Gun to Keane’s head and tell him to drop the TV work and sign today?

As I say, longer term game and if getting Keane in and making sure it’s done properly means a few more days, so be it

The timing was completely bizarre. If you put all the debate to one side and look at it on face value it makes little sense. I still say there was stuff went on behind closed doors.

Aye - Defoe. Johnson didn’t want him so they took the decision to sack him off the back of the Bolton game. The fact they are scrabbling around over a week later trying to bring someone in shows they didn’t have a f***ing clue what they were doing and I doubt they have now.

Said this today on twitter. It's his mess, he should have had the balls to stand in the dugout & take the flack. By all means let the other lads take training but should have been him in the hotseat yesterday
That’s just absurd. KLD is ultimately the majority shareholder and responsible for the club, should he have been in the dugout as well?

Do I detect that you are not overly impressed by the work of our DoF in the last week?
