Speakman will want to appoint a young coach in the summer that makes him look all progressive and hipster.
This could be correct. Trying to piss around and get Keane on the cheap for a free hit until the end of the season. Short term contract so they dont have to sack him with a big pay off. Just so they can go and appoint the coach from Melbourne.

The worry is whether Speakman puts justifying his own flannel over just getting us promoted asap.
The fact they binned LJ so quickly looked promising...but fannying about like this certainly doesnt.
And if the whole thing with RK was just a bit tease then he's going to discover he's been playing with fire.
Still too early to tell. But if there's no manager in for the next game god help him....and us!

That statement today was definitely flattening the Keane flames. He managed to deflate the fans before the game before the coaches totally ruined the mood. I'm a positive poster but we got today very wrong

What the fuck are they waiting for anyway like. We’ll probably appoint some **** in 6 weeks.

Can’t believe we sacked Johnson a f***ing week ago

Roy Keane is not our legend, he just happened to manage us for a couple of seasons. He’s a Man Utd legend. Bit like the mags with Sir Bobby only not as extreme.
I'm not saying he's our legend.
But why does that then preclude him from trying to repeat what he achieved here last time.
Using your logic, JDF is not our legend either because he was Spurs success first.
Jesus wept man, what you're saying is Keane can't go anywhere apart from Man Utd.

Is Keane wise? I guess it’ll be sink or swim and that might be what we need. But for me promotion via the top 2 is beyond us now so I don’t think a high risk manager makes sense. Someone who’s commanding and a tactician and who can get us defending and doing the ugly things better is the way to go. I also wonder if Keane could deal with mediocre league 1 players. He struggled with mediocre premier league players !!

Of course he f***ing does! All this bleating on about “oh we’re reviewing a shortlist now” is to make out like he’s being thorough when in reality he hasn’t got a f***ing clue what to do and the one bloke who wants to come, who the fans want to come, won’t listen or stand for his bullshit.

After today I think this is beyond Keane.

We have no chance of the top 2

We will likely fall out of the play offs on current form.

The players are poor and have no confidence, they’re sulking after LJ has been sacked and they can’t defend. The pitch is shit so we need to be route one. Would love Keane to go in all guns blazing but I dont think it’ll work. Probably better off with an ‘arm round’ defensive manager like Warnock, knows the league, the players.

The RK thing isn't coming from the club, it's people on here and social media that have built it up saying it's close, or some saying it's done. We don't really know how close it is

After watching today I don’t think it’s a tactics thing. I wasn’t all that convinced about Keane initially. However today was all about desire and graft. Anybody who doesn’t graft (looking at you, Elliot) will be left out. He’ll have them absolutely rabid. There’s talent there. It’s the desire side that’s missing.
