To be fair McCann has done more than Keane in management in recent years and has been promoted from this division only last season. He's not exactly box office but isn't a terrible choice either.

In recent years you are right, but keanes achieved more in his managerial career than McCann like

By quite a bit

He’s got the easiest job in the world atm and we are a league one club with high expectations of nothing but promotion in a short period of time. Personally if he wants to get back into management this is the perfect opportunity but…
Short period of time -really ?
Four seasons and counting -very little expectation after a 6 nowt drubbing -fans I meet now how very little expectation -I would say everyone just wants a bit of Hope ( not Craig btw!)

Not convinced like, his Hull side went up as champions with the lowest points tally in years. Doesnt seem to have any personality whatsoever, I'd have big doubts his ability to come in and fire us up short term.
Kept most of a relegated side and was well backed in summer as well. Hull were one of the favourites from the off as any newly relegated side should be (not that it always works that way of course). He deserves some credit for getting them back up last season nevertheless but he equally put them there in the first place. Last season is the only one where he's done anything of note and is a bit of an outlier in his career. There are better candidates out there imo. McCann is lazy.

It's a difficult one for both the club and Keane. The club want him and hope he gives the short-term burst to get us over the line, revisit it in the summer and hopefully extend for longer. However, if he's a handful to manage or we just turn into shit and struggle, they've got an option to walk away, a bit of a try before you buy. I can understand the club wanting those options with him not being an out and out manager for a while.
For Keane, who will have the utmost faith in his own ability, will he feel mistrusted by being offered this scenario? Will he feel he shouldn't have to prove himself in such a short period? Will he feel he's having to give up lucrative TV work with little assurance or guarantee of work beyond April/May. So he has to weigh that up against the lure of being back in management at a big club he already likes?
There’s no risk with Sky. If he ever wanted to go back to his tv role they’d have him back in a shot. 6 months gives him a chance to ‘get to know’ Speakman too. It’s effectively a two way 6 month engagement, before deciding whether or not to book the civic centre. Makes sense to me

I think Keane likes the "let's get this club back where it belongs " but I'm not so sure he has a lot of interest in PL . He knows you got to fling over 100 mill just to try and stay in there.

It's his job to be a pundit but I just think players and agents at that level get on his tits.

well considering they arent safc fans and im not a defoe or keane fan and they are, you are right i dont understand.

by the way isnt ya dont understand..a phrase safcjuse to mock nufc fans..yet are using it yourselves?

why not?

I’m a Sunderland fan

I love keane and defoe

You aren’t a Sunderland fan in the slightest

That’s not an insult you just don’t support us

If he decides not to take it there’s gonna be some reaction…….bloke who does get it instead of Keane is already starting the gig needing snookers.

I’ll be deflated definitely but in reality I couldn’t care less who the manager is as long as we get promoted.
If Keane doesn’t want the job but somebody else does, I’ll be fully behind the person who actually wanted the job
