I don’t think so. Speakman was saying on SAFC unfiltered that they hadn’t started looking or approaching anyone until Johnson was sacked as it would’ve unprofessional and disrespectful to the Johnson.
On the record, that’s what he would say. Don’t think for one second that feelers weren’t being put out unofficially though.

Parkinson got teams promoted from this division as well.
Parkinson's teams play dour, defensive hoof ball football. We have a set up and a philosophy now. We buy players to fit that and the coach needs to favour fast, attacking football. I am no expert on McCann but from what I saw that is how Hull got promoted. As someone else said a lot of the ill feeling towards McCann is that he is not Kene. I want Keane but if he is not to come then I will look for the positive in McCann. When both Parko and Johnson were appointed I was really down in the dumps as I thought, for different reasons, they were bad choices. I feel we are now in a better place to make considered decisions. If we appointed Lennon or Warnock I may question that but I can buy into McCann.

Feels so similar to last time. Poyet was coming and the alternative was massively underwhelming, and guess what we were massively underwhelmed
Not many managerial appointments statistically end in success. It’s always a gamble but for me it’s the right fit and time for Keane to return.

fintan drury works with a lot of irish players..made them a lot of money over the years..including for keano as an ireland international..he should give him a call
Cheers I'll let him know when I see him in tge tavern on my lunch break. Haven't seen you in there for a while.....hmmm, wonder why?!

It's a difficult one for both the club and Keane. The club want him and hope he gives the short-term burst to get us over the line, revisit it in the summer and hopefully extend for longer. However, if he's a handful to manage or we just turn into shit and struggle, they've got an option to walk away, a bit of a try before you buy. I can understand the club wanting those options with him not being an out and out manager for a while.
For Keane, who will have the utmost faith in his own ability, will he feel mistrusted by being offered this scenario? Will he feel he shouldn't have to prove himself in such a short period? Will he feel he's having to give up lucrative TV work with little assurance or guarantee of work beyond April/May. So he has to weigh that up against the lure of being back in management at a big club he already likes?

he doesnt have an agent, never has, so will be doing his own negotiating, i hope he is sensible enough to get a lawyer to look at it afterwards,,,
He doesn’t negotiate anything, he gets a lawyer to do that and to look over it, he has the same one as a lot of the Man Utd people from then. Although his main lawyer passed away, I’m sure they use the same firm

If Keane feels its right he will be in charge. We still have loose ends around our club that have zero affinity to us. The shit on the shoe brigade. Nullify these and its game on.
