Apologies if the point has been raised, have dipped in and out of this thread- but is it not possible KLD has hoyed a like on that Instagram post to gauge the fans reaction, and Keane is purely a candidate out of 3/4? Rather than it meaning he’s nailed on for the job?

He’s lit a spark than has turned into a raging out of control fire mind

They qualified for a major finals. Nothing since.

Everything about the Keane appointment (if it happens) is heart over head.

Without hitting the bullshit bingo all over, SAFC needs a heart and a personality to get us going again. What’s the worst that could happen? Another season in this shitstain of a League? Worth the risk imo.
This will be why Johnson went. They'll think probably not going to go up with Johnson anyway, roll the dice and gamble with Keane.

Possibly, if that’s the case though he’s definitely got his answer of whether the majority of fans will be happy with it.

Agreed. I'm not dead against it or owt like mate but it's nothing but a Hail Mary to get the place going. Hopefully it comes off.

If Johnson going was the only thing to come from this, it has been a success. Dreadful appointment.

Aye we will Defs get playoffs anyway

Long term it’s a step away from their vision like

Think it’s worth the go though

Exactly. It's where we were headed anyway.

IF it goes right, still a big IF, what the more exciting prospect... a summer transfer window and a Championship season under Keane, or one under McCann/Neil/Lennon (shudder)/Warnock???

Backwards!!!!!!!!

And I suppose our modern structure is brilliant is it?

The very structure that has us scrambling around to make the play offs again in the THIRD TIER of English football.

Give me strength.
Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Surely you see the positives and how the club is building with a clearly defined plan?

No point throwing it all away because it hasn’t been perfect instantly.

There have been 2 windows for the new regime where they’ve done a great job which is the majority opinion, we’ve improved a lot on the pitch in both style, and to an extent, results.

LJ couldn’t take the club forward in the eyes of the management team so they are looking at an upgrade there.

KTF!😁

Nobody will guarantee promotion this season. Johnson has seen to that. Every option on the table is a Hail Mary at this point.

The never say die attitude Keane instilled last time 'round could be just what we need to get through the play-offs.

are you saying that we haven't changed the structure of the club since KLD came, regarding recruitment and backroom staff since that series four years ago? If you are you are very wrong. We have progressed in the right direction that's what I'm on about. We are not where we want to be yet but it doesn't happen overnight.
I’m saying quite clearly that even if KLD and co have managed to improve the structure of the club by 90% or more from where we were at a few years back, we will still be nowhere near having ‘a modern structure’ as you’d have it.

I’m not remotely saying KLD haven’t made any improvements, I’m saying that over the past several years the club has been such a shambolic mess, hence why we’re in this division, that even what represents an extremely drastic level of improvement in the short term won’t be enough to bring us anywhere near to what a modern, well run football club actually looks like.

Thought I’d made the initial point quite clearly. Not really sure how this is difficult to understand.

Yeah, it's only just become apparent that the ownership are so desperate to go up this season over the development of the long term plan. If that's the case then I suppose he's as good as anyone.
Good c.v just like Parky, Grayson, LJ, etc,etc.....
Aye. Those lads have got a side promoted to the premier league before. 👍

He’s managed Hamilton Norwich and Preston you want your young players like sponges taking in everything the manager says learning from them you think they gonna listen to Alex neil or Roy Keane ?
If they've got owt about them then both. Why wouldn't you listen to either? They've both had comparable success in management for starters.
