Roy Keane

I would absolutely love Keane back.

I think there is a good manager in there, just needs the opportunity.

Lampard is perceived as a good manager, yet what has he achieved that Keane hasn't?

Keane has clearly matured, his interview with Neville highlights this, out of all the managers that have been mentioned, McCann, McCarthy, Woodgate, I'd take Keane over any of those.

What does "the game has moved on" actually mean?
I think you probably know, but anyway ....

A lot has happened in the 15 years since Keane left Sunderland - whole careers have come and gone, not just here but in football in general.

Tactics have evolved, players attitudes and there influences towards a club have changed.

Even the most successful teams, currently Man City and Liverpool, evolve and change a winning team and formula because if you stand still in football, you end up being overtaken.

Would Keane have the same aura now that he had immediately after he retired ?

Will the likes of Doyle respond to someone he has only read about in the same way that Nosworthy responded back in 2006/7 ?

Does Keane have the exact hunger he showed back then ?

People change and so does football

I wouldn't say it's low risk. It could potentially finish him off completely if we don't go up. And let's not pretend that would be an easy task from this position.

I think it really would be last chance saloon for Roy Keane the manager.

I think the point on his punditry jobs is important though, currently he's a pundit, if he has a disaster here he'll still walk into any pundit job.

Yeah it would be his last chance but he admits this himself, he said in an interview a while back he'd like 'one more chance' in management.

Just watched that from start to finish.
If anyone doesn't want Roy Keane back at Sunderland after watching that, I give up.
I put it on around midnight just to watch 5 minutes and ended up watching the whole thing even though I was knackered.
People who say he is miserable and dour just don’t get his humour.

Tactics haven't changed. Terminology has though

For those who are saying he hasn't managed for ages, granted he hasn't as the top man but he has been in the game the whole time as a coach at a higher level than this (Euros/prem/champ), which is what we need short term.

Give ya self a shake. Its like you don't want any joy in your life.

You advocate for a continuation of the miserable, less than mediocre approach to the last 6 years. We've nothing to lose with this. Johnson was in the process of blowing automatic promotion, let's have a roll of the dice to see if we can make a difference here these last 17 games.
Spot on ,there are a few on here in need of help to drag them out of despair that LJ has left them in.WE NEED MOMENTUM which any low level appointment would extinguish

This game as moved on shite bugs the shit out of me.

What's changed like? Last game I watched it was still 22 blokes kicking a ball about.
It’s the third division anarl. A lot of countries don’t even have a third division too move on.
