Keane coming back as manager has to be one of the most idiotic ideas I've ever heard. Other than getting us promoted ages ago, he's done nothing at all. He's been out of management too long and he won't work at all with a DoF. Appoint him and it won't be long before he either walks out or he's sacked. I'd rather we kept Streaky than have Keane back.
Give ya self a shake. Its like you don't want any joy in your life.

You advocate for a continuation of the miserable, less than mediocre approach to the last 6 years. We've nothing to lose with this. Johnson was in the process of blowing automatic promotion, let's have a roll of the dice to see if we can make a difference here these last 17 games.

Huge lift aye.

Seems to be a fair few who have got a strong opinion against, which is the whole point of this board I guess and each to their own etc.

I'm just assuming they weren't there to experience what it was like last time with the lift and knowing the team would give everything until the last whistle.

Plenty clubs have had people return and make a success of it.

To say the game has moved on is *****s. It's league 1 football ffs, if anything it's probably at the same standard as the championship 06/07.

Success at this level is all about doing the basics correct on a consistent basis.

I was there and I don't want him back, it's pure nostalgia

It’s a no lose situation for Keane, if he comes in and does shite he can say they weren’t his players,we were short of defenders etc. If he does well his reputation as a manager has been enhanced and he can either stay with us or go back to the media work and wait for other offers to come along.

Hasn't managed at club level for 10 years, game has moved on, failed everywhere apart from here etc
Well he's anly had two jobs, so his success/'failure' rate is 50/50.

Not sure Ipswich was a complete failure - just didn't do anything. Plenty managers go round that merry-go-round with middling results. McCarthy managed there about three times as long as Keane and did fuck all, yet many would have had that clown back. People still give him jobs. What have they done?

His assistant role with Ireland wasn't a failure - they got to the knockouts of the Euros.

The game might have moved on at a higher level but look at the clubs who are successful in our division . Rotherham , Wigan , wycombe etc , they are hardly playing football like Man City are they ?
It’s all blood and thunder , fitness and power and a never say die attitude that gets you out of this league , exactly the sort of football Keane would instill.
