magical thinking that Keane would suddenly become a good manager just because he's back at Sunderland even though he's tried and failed elsewhere and the top two leagues won't touch him.

It's not about sentimental redemption fairy tales : we need the absolute best manage we can attract at this level on our budget.
4 months to ride the crest of a wave. He’s done it before and I think he can do it again. BHH

Heart is going mental, head is in turmoil

Reckon that’s the position of loads of us.

But… if anyone can stick a rocket up us it’s definitely someone like Keane

He was a good manager at Sunderland

He was better than good

Nobody else could have done what he did

We were heading for league one make no mistake about it
Think we lost our first four games of that season didn’t we? Before he came in.

This.

No but I mean they think it's almost nailed on. KLD could interview him and think fuck that
Highly unlikely. Keane is extremely erudite about football. The clip I posted earlier on summed him up perfectly when he was asked how he’d cope managing Maguire and De Gea after slagging them off mercilessly - “I’d take them to one side and say ‘prove me wrong’ and that would be the end of it”.

No one would touch pardew for a long time until the mags took a punt and he did ok for them. It's impossible to know how a managerial appointment will work out. I thought we'd cracked it when we appointed O'Neil and Moyes and Coleman

Agreed. KLD is not stupid, and he’s social-media savvy. This is his way of cranking up the hysteria ahead of an official announcement. He did exactly the same with Defoe.

I also don’t believe that Keane is still waiting for an interview tomorrow. KLDs social media “antics” suggest he’s already been offered/accepted the job.

It’d be incredibly stupid if he liked that without the deal already signed and sealed.

Itd almost be on a par with Ian Botham’s Twitter moment for online sacklessness.
