Again entirely possible but someone suggested there was a potential loggerheads between them. I was simply pointing out that Speakman does whatever his boss tells him to do.

To a degree, aye. But if you employ someone to carry out a role (and we have to assume KLD is happy with this set up) then you should really let them get on with it or we end up with meddling chairman who know nowt about football causing chaos a la Donald and Methven.

Mind, in terms of a manager it will most likely be a group decison anyway.

Speakman is very impressive and is shaping the club behind the scenes. Despite on the pitch debacles recently, player recruitment and hopefully manager recruitment have been outstanding. The decisiveness in the exit door is equally impressive. You don’t turn around a club overnight but iMHO are the signs are encouraging.over time this will translate to results on the pitch.

Speakman is an asset and we need to hang on to him

I sort of agree but fuck me letting flannagan go was not necessary before the summer mind. Theres no logic in it.

Letting johnson go without new manager lined up behind the scenes - naive.

Dont for one second think that a well worded excuse paper over them points cos they dont. I do like the recruitment we have done overall tho. Although results dictate wether it was good or not!!!

He looked buzzing as well. Assuming it happens I think he's delighted to be getting another shot at management, probably had times when he thought he'd never get the opportunity. The fact we're the ones to give him his chance, for the second time, means we're going to have a very motivated Roy Keane who will be determined to be a success for this club. Shame about yesterday, it's probably play offs, but if we get him on an 18 month contract at least there's reason to be optimistic again
Absolutely all of THIS

I'm in on every word of that lad. Top post.

He can shape all he wants behind the scenes, without a men’s first team squad performing in the Premier League in the next couple of years it’s all for nothing.

The first team should be all anybody in that business should he focusing on, as harsh as that sounds.

He’ll be buzzing, everything about this club is first class, stadium, faculties, fan base, history…. He’s picking us up so far down the pyramid, he’s getting a premier league outfit (bar the players) it’s literally the biggest club he could hope for at this stage in his career, he’ll be frothing at the prospect of taking us up 2 leagues and back into the promised land.

Ok mrs speakman. Are you for real. We are short at left back and centre halves. Our recruitment was not what was needed in the 3rd division, we are unbalanced with two many youngsters and he is now dithering appointing a new manager 7 days after sacking the previous one. An asset, dont make me laugh.
