Roy keane did an absolutely outstanding job here

There’s no debating it

We were heading the same way as the Grayson season.

You’ve literally just forgotten
I wrote in the post you've quoted that I was excited when Keane was appointed. I agree completely that he did an outstanding job here - for the first two years. But I have not forgotten the terrible way it ended. That final 1-4 home defeat to Bolton was the same sort of sackable display that has just seen Johnson booted. His last months were disgraceful and can largely be put down to the fact that he never fulfilled his promise to bring his family up here. Ironically, I believe, though I'm not certain, he did move them to Suffolk when he got the Ipswich job; and that was a disaster from the start.

Not sure about this. Would obviously be great fun for the nostalgia, but football a very different place now. A lot of League One teams all use a data driven approach now, gone are the days of 442 and vibes. He'd kick a rocket up their backsides, but can't see him being the man to know what to do tactically if we're going in at half time 2-0 down.
Kick a rocket up their backsides and tell 'em to pass to Defoe or Stewart?

They’d be an issue immediately. Another season in this bastard league because we’ve fucked up yet another appointment, this time to reminisce about something that happened 15 years ago with someone who hasn’t worked in 12 year, would leave me raging.
Don’t you think Dave Jones, who knows the real Roy Keane won’t have talked to him in some detail about the job, the club, the squad, the board etc for it even to get to this stage? It’s far from a nostalgic appointment. Keane must really fancy it and the board will have complete confidence he’s the man. It’s a really exciting propitiation. Isn’t sport and football supposed to be about enjoyment and excitement?

Loved him when he was here but that was a long time ago. He's nothing more than a sky rentaquote now. He's been out of the game for too long, we may aswell give it to Reify if we're going for nostalgia.
wouldn't underestimate momentum. the place is already going to be rocking on Saturday. imagine they go announce Keano tomorrow

it'll either be unbelievable or an absolute disaster but fuck me i want to see it

It’s a fair point but I don’t think rotherham are the most tactically flexible side by the way. They just know how to win game at this level
True that, proven by how Warne has almost always flopped at Championship level. None of the names thrilling me at the moment and if we're gonna go for a ranter we may as well go for Keane over Ferguson
