The rows are done with a barbell. What equipment do you have available mate?

Multigym, Treadmill, 16kg Kettlebell will be here in a few days, or if dumbbells would be more apt to that training regime you posted, I'll get those instead.

I've seen that programme you recommend Titus but never started cos I don't have a bench.

I chucked it out years ago when I bought a multigym (which never got used)

I've got dumbbells and a barbell, and use a stability ball to do some dumbbell flys and presses. Never tried that with a bar though as I don't trust myself or the ball.

Could you also recommend any adaptations on the excercises.

I'd go for dumbells instead. What does the multigym have and I'll see if there's anything I can come up with for you.

If you have a barbell without a bench, you could use floor press for example. Change the overhead press to dumbell presses unless you have a rack where you can get the barbell out of without having to clean it in to position

This is the exact one I have mate, and what size dumbbells would you say I should start off at?

Cheers. I may have a bash at using the floor.

I need to clear a bit more garage space and sneak a bench in

Titus - You thought up anything yet? Also if you could point me in the direction of the cheapest barbell and dumbbell set that would be great.

If you could get a barbell then you would be able to run most of the exercises in that programme mate. As for price, I'm not really sure - I'd think somebody off here will likely of purchased that stuff in the past though

Just the barbell? I'll order one asap. If you could post in this thread of PM me on what I should be doing with the stuff I already have, then that would be greatly appreciated.

Would that be a good one to start with?

Got enough for this?

Usually I wouldn't recommend a home gym to anyone who is a novice but if you are set on it you need the essentials as already mentioned.
If you have a barbell you have a wide variety of things you can use it for as again has already been mentioned.

Other things you can get cheap for variety on top of your kettlebell are these which I use and are very good.

The thing is 99% of people don't know how to perform a correct push up, if you do them right as a novice I guarantee you'll struggle to get even 10 strict ones.

Here is a very good article and demo video from Nate Green to explain.

Here you go mate:

The top one is very useful for a starter and the psychological side of things.

DeFranco's articles and ask Joe sections will be quite useful to you in finding what you need and also the T Nation search engine will have everything you've ever hoped or in terms of specific workouts, body part related workouts etc.

Seemed to have lost 4 pounds in the past 3 or 4 days and I don't think I've ate particularly healthy and I haven't done much exercise. Was going to start my new routine anyway but that has gave me an extra boost.

Just going to go create my own routine using the things I've got.

If you are a novice go and buy 2nd hand on ebay/gumtree/cash converters, etc.

There is plenty of cheap hardly used exercise equipment on there especially if you are willing to pick it up.

Done 3x8 on each section of my multi-gym on the 40kg weight for all, felt a bit sore and tired after (and it wasn't even a lot!!) then took the dog on a 40-45ish minute walk which was mostly uphill. Will increase it more and more and add more activities.
