*~*~* Rotherham v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

There was fight like, hence us getting back into it. The problem was lack of quality
They wanted it more than us. We were being billy big bollox they were playing for their manager. It was like the Mags v forest you see it every week. The successful teams mix skill with a desire to win every 50;50 ball just like our squad that won the play offs from division one.

In touch of play offs. I’ll take that going in to January. Beale can’t be blamed for anything. If Mowbray was still here I think we would be a couple points or so worse off. Beale can’t take credit for that either, he has had no time to change anything yet. I will reserve judgement.
But he has to be fair, not even trying to start with a striker or two, one to just even pull defenders to open space would be a start, but no he's not done that. He's gone with the tried and tested same old same old of TM & Dodds (KLD really ;)).

No but I suspect many will be considering if they should do so next year given the lack of ambition at the club.

Where were you expecting ambition? They’ve been very clear on the recruitment strategy.

The Head Coach appointment was hugely disappointing but the club said they wanted a coach coach.

I don’t like it but they’ve not veered off their plan.

I’ll say something negative when we stop moving forward . I’m happy to take small steps and not overreact as soon as something goes wrong . We were told that this was a long term project but some are too thick or ignorant to understand how this works .
We are like night and day from where we were a couple of years ago .
Great, so Sunderland try to do things slowly for the "project", are the rest of teams going to stand still and allow us to progress as we want

He was covering his arse fir the fcuk up of that window. Teams need strikers and if he tries to say otherwise he's talking shit.

I thought that at the time too (as well as talking up Clarke and Dejaku as strikers previously), but now I think he actually thinks that way, as if we're Barcelona circa 2009 reinvented.

The way we play, another manager trying to shoe-horn Aouchiche and Ba in and barring a just gone 20 year old from Portugal with absolutely no senior record, Gelhardt, Burstow, Rusyn and Mayenda- all players who have played off the left, right or deeper we don't look to have signed an out and out striker.

We did dig in and got a point from a turgid performance. I don't think there is a lack of effort or fight from this team. Bit of quality? Definitely
