Ross Stewart

Our transfer buisness has clearly been one of if not the best of any club in England over that period.
Overall it's been good but let's not get carried away, we did spend £50m on Adingra & Diarra, there's been mistakes.

Southampton not going up now. Get a cheeky £5m bid in and add him to the squad as backup to Brobbey before he leaves the World Cup as top scorer and is courted by Real Madrid.

I watched the two playoffs Saints (sinners )v Boro . it reminded me what a player Ross Stewart is. Not just up front but in defence and fighting for the ball all over. Must be gutted about Wembley.

You may jest, but the way he played against Arsenal confirms the ability is there and then his ability to compete in the air would make him an excellent squad player for us. Not saying he’s starting games regularly but IF FIT he’s a good addition to most premier teams

I’d be sending a £3m offer and have a 2+1 year contract on £30k/week ready for him to sign this morning for him to come back as a backup striker, much like the type of deal we did for Traore.

Was only half-joking. I think he'll be itching to be in the Prem and has scored against premiership opposition this season. At under £10m, it'd be daft not to roll the dice.

Will get money back on adingra and diarra just needs bit more time
We won't get it all back on Adingra. Not unless we can persuade another PL side, perhaps one of tje promoted lot, to take him on.

Reckon if we are selling to Monaco and the like, we will only get £12m or so. So a bit of a haircut.

Lad citing Diarra as wasted money should give his head a wobble. When will people learn.

I reckon we will get most of it back, there’s already going to have been a loan fee. I would not be surprised to see another one season loan with a generous fee and an obligation to buy that looks like a reduced fee but in combination with the loans isn’t really far off getting our money back.

Adingra is a canny player and seems to have found his way at Monaco, and if we get half or more back then that is good.
Don’t understand why Diarra continues to get pelters. There’s a fine player who has had a much interrupted season due to a serious injury and AFCOn. That ‘miss’ v AV was no more or less a whopper than Sadikis v Man Utd yet no one said a thing re the latter.
Diarra looked the part v Everton and I reckon there’s a lot more to come

I'd argue that Adingra is actually an example of our transfer work being good.

Of course he didn't live up to the expectations, but clearly the club recognised it and they acted. They brought in alternative options and got Adingra out on loan at a good level, in a slightly easier league, where he could hopefully either kick on in his development or put himself in the shop window for a summer move.

How often over the years have we signed a player who hasn't performed, and then got stuck with them for years as they take up a chunk of the wage bill and give us nothing in return.

Not every transfer will work out, but in this case the club were proactive about it and took a good step that increases the chances of us either getting back a player who is better able to contribute next season, or giving us a better chance of recouping what we paid for him if we choose to sell.

Adingra is a decent player, just not very good at tracking back which is a vital component to how Regis wants his wingers to play. Stewart is damaged goods and we should be nowhere near signing him, which we won’t. Diarra I think has had a disrupted season and from what I saw on Sunday wouldn’t rule him out of plying more in the role we have lobbed Hume into.

Stewart may end up doing a DCL and signing on a one year deal with one of the promoted teams for big money

Habib will be a great player moving forward. Still very young and already starting to see his impact on games.
And he really seems to make an impact on the right hand side

I think we forget our pre-season last year was just trying to get all of these players to gel.
We will have a much stronger pre-season this year with a settled squad, playing style and less additions - but higher quality ones

Got 1 million loan fee , win some to lose some we have quadrupled money on multiple players so we haven’t lost anything

He’s done well on loan there though. If not for that, I’d agree.

I think we gave up oh him a bit quick, but this set up does seem to have the courage of their convictions.
I’d have put him up for sale immediately after the Hearts friendly.
