He obviously secured a great contract when moving to Southampton. Presume it was much better than we ever offered.

Be interesting to see what happens next but he’s starting to worry about that contract coming to an end…

Can't see them doing an extension on his existing deal, maybe a new 2 year deal on reduced terms

Yeah. Southampton have an option to extend by 1 year but they might not think he’s worth that level wage considering his history.

I can’t remember who it was but a few years ago we gave someone a new two year contract who was injured. Turned out it was just the money from the last year of his deal spread out over a longer period.

Yeh,contracts are often extended on those terms,makes sense from the tax angles.
Don't think Ross would be too worried -is present contract would have set him up for life financially.
