yes he had 14 good games that season..was injured for a lot of it though

when was he fit? He has played 20 games in two years? And the club offered him a contract..thats trying to get him to stay...he has so far been a disaster for southampton and a dream for SAFC to get all that lovely money..why would we want an injured player to stay if we can get money for him?

Banging them in in League 1, for one season, 2 years ago. Scored at an excellent rate in the CH last season as well, but that's not a big enough period to make any judgements over. That spell also included a few penalties iirc, which bumps up the number a little.

The fact is, he was injured. He's still injured! He's been a Southampton player for 9 months and he's played about 20 minutes man. His replacements here (or lack of) are irrelevant to him, because he wasn't available for selection even we'd kept him.

Injured or not he would have left because we won’t be paying players what they are worth.
And imo, in hindsight getting 8-10m for him was good business, however I would still have him here now

yes..no one is dsimissing his performances..
the point is he couldnt have played fir SAFC last season...not because he was sold..but because he was injured...its not the case of we could have had a fit ross stewart and instead chose hemir..
its a case of we didnt have a fit ross stewart and chose hemir..

Aye I know, I am just sad about Stewart. Even if he had been fit he would have left because we are no longer a club with top half of the Championship ambitions. I hope the new bloke does well but his hands will be tied from the off. I hope Stewart gets fit because I think he is capable of doing well and would have been a very welcome addition to Scotland's Euros squad.

p.s. even injured he would have outperformed all but Rusyn

Gyokeres scored goals and that's it. We seen when he was injured how much of our wider game was impacted too
