Ross Stewart

You don’t realise how good he was until you see clips back - and his cameo today. Class act.

He was superb. When you consider he looked miles better and more clinical than Simms and Simms is a good second tier forward it tells you he really had quality for this division and possibly higher.

It made it all the more galling when Speakman said we never played with a number 9 because Stewart (and Simms) was a proper 9. Good finisher, good in the air, defended from the front, ran the channels, stretched defenders, helped defensively with set pieces.

We hugely miss him or anything like him

He was brilliant for us, pity his agent held us to ransom for 12 months. Left a very bitter taste in a lot of fans mouths. He's been injured 18 month and he's 29?

anyhoo fantastic players for us, why did KS get so shit at signing players when he did so well in the 1st 12 months

Completely agree. He was the complete centre forward and I was always sure he would be able to do it in the Premier League.

Bang on about Simms anarl. He (Stewart) was streets ahead of a very decent player!

Perfect modern day striker, whether he is good enough for premier league or if he can even stay fit remains to be seen, but signs where he was going to be easily good enough for championship and get us challenging for promotion but as usual it went pear shaped

So had a say in us signing and negotiating the Stewart deal. Well done Speaksy. The Prince of Wearside.
yes but he didnt "find" the player..which is what I was responding to...
he has never found a player in his life..which is why there is a highly paid head of recruitment to find players..

How do you know for sure? He must have been the one who orchestrated the Bellingham move.
