Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

I reckon that we’ll play Patto when the opposition shoot a lot but don’t cross it.

Then we’ll start Robin when the opposition shoot less often and cross more.

Or we could start with Patto then sub on Robin for the last 10 mins if the opposition launch the ball into our box.
I reckon we will play two keepers and they will take turns at rush goalie, depending on what comes into the box.

Absolutely, but huge kick in the nuts for Patto.

Is a little bit sad for me I can't lie. Came in to the team midway through our promotion season in League One and was a huge reason for promotion that year, getting us established in the Championship and then put in a man of the match performance at Wembley to get us promoted a second time. Only player in the squad who has been first choice for the whole time.

Likes of Clarke, Stewart, Watson and even Bellingham came in for some crititcism for a lack of loyalty from fans in recent years despite all four of them giving us great memories. Them very same fans don't give a shite about loyalty when their team can upgrade on a player though.

Fair play to the club for having a go though, not criticisng them at all. Just think football fans reactions are quite funny.

Thing is our recruitment drive is very stats based and Patterson stats were pretty poor in a weaker league.

So the club were always going to replace him or anyone whos not doing the business on the pitch.

He comes for crosses aggressively and can play with his , already 10 levels above patto then.
People being sentimental about players need to get a grip. We’re moving forward and if they aren’t good enough then they’ll be replaced. Such is life. Rather that than be sentimental and get humped every week.

Good interview, along with the Speak an quotes sounds like he jumped at the chance of signing which my soul needed after the Lucumi articles of yesterday 😂
Crystal clear expectation of being first choice

He exudes a confidence and calmness that I really like

imagined it’s been asked, but can he feature tomorrow?

Be good to get him familiar with the team, albeit I hope a new central defence will be in front of him should he start against West Ham

Posted earlier in the thread but as a reminder, he had a goals prevented rate of +9.7 in the league last season, meaning he was essentially worth 10 goals to them across their 34 game league campaign.

In comparison Patterson prevented -1.8 and the Championship is of a similar standard to the Dutch top flight according to the likes of Opta. That's the difference between staying up comfortably and being certainties for relegation.

We simply couldn't afford to go into this season with Patterson as our only option in goal.

It's ganna be git cringey when Roefs claims his first cross and there's an ironic cheer.
