Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

I still think we’ll see Patterson leave this summer and another keeper in addition to Roefs will come in to challenge for our number 1 position.
Not so sure. I think he stays now. If we’d gone and got Petrovic or similar he would 100% be 2nd choice.

From the data I compared there wasnt much in them, all be it that it was 5 minutes of research.

I do wonder how much of those stats are down to the way we play compared to how NEC play. The highlights I watched I couldnt believe how many crosses NEC let in, goal was constantly peppered unlike us which explains some of them stats like.
Roofs stats are well ahead.

He makes less long passes but the ones he's makes are more successful. The videos show his ability to break the midfield line.

But main one us the xG prevented. Essentially NEC should have conceded 10 more with an average keeper for the league.

I like this signing a lot

I hope this lad absolutely smashed it and becomes as loved as Sorenson was here but I can’t help feeling that of all the signings the club has made this summer he represents the biggest gamble.

If he’s going to be our number one it’s a big ask for a 22 year old to come into a premier league side expected to be fighting relegation when his relevant senior football experience amounts to one season in Holland.
Maybe he’s been brought in to replace Patterson and we bring in another as No.1. Complete guess work on my account but the way we are going about things there seems to be 4 ITKs at the club and anything can happen.

I reckon that we’ll play Patto when the opposition shoot a lot but don’t cross it.

Then we’ll start Robin when the opposition shoot less often and cross more.

Or we could start with Patto then sub on Robin for the last 10 mins if the opposition launch the ball into our box.
If that's what the stats dictate then it'd be madness to deviate from the modelling ... it's not a game of instinct

Posted earlier in the thread but as a reminder, he had a goals prevented rate of +9.7 in the league last season, meaning he was essentially worth 10 goals to them across their 34 game league campaign.

Good stats, but I try not to read too much into them when it comes to keepers. I’m still mentally traumatised from when signed Kelvin Davis. He had amazing stats from the previous championship season (even got team of the year I think)

It might be a cunning plan … we keep a narrow shape and funnel the opposition to wide areas and not be too concerned with a barrage of crosses. Our attacking players seem to have been targeted for counter attacking roles.
