Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

Some canny saves but someone will mention the PL players hit the ball harder than any other players on earth, or suggest the finishing is 10000x better.

Jesting aside I think temprament, decision making is largely what's going to make or break any goalkeeper at the top level. Obviously you need a level of competency from them in terms of shotstopping and general handling too.

The worry with Roefs is he's played such few games at a relatively low level and he's now got to adjust to a different kind of pressure, quality level and spotlight and who knows how he'll handle that.

Thankfully we aren't now bottom feeders on the continent and we have more knowledge of various areas, so you would think that this guy is on a lot of clubs radars as a potential star rather than some bargin bucket rough diamond.

Also a good few years ago we bought Tomas Sorensen from a lesser kind of level, with a similar experience level, having played most his games on loan rather than for his parent club. So these types do come around occasionally.

Aye. This. To be a successful keeper you either need to not really care if things went wrong last time (like patterson, or van der sar back in the day) or be completely insane (like pickford). I hope he's one or the other

With the suggestion that this signing will be announced within the next 24 hours will he be eligible to play on Saturday v Real Betis or is his signing subject to international clearance / work permit delays?

Apparently that lasses penalty on Sunday was hit faster and harder than anything in premier last season so maybe she should be employed to get our keepers ready
