Sorry if I sound pedantic but Rob was definitely made redundant by the club, not sacked. Nonetheless, still a disgraceful, shortsighted decision.

Lovely fella is Rob. Very passionate about the club and what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing. It's the way he tells people all this stuff, it's absolutely effortless how he tells people but you can also hear the absolute pride in his voice he gets from telling people stuff about the club.

He’s still in denial that September 1880 is the real foundation date for Sunderland AFC, despite the lack of evidence for 1879 and the overwhelming evidence for 1880.

Other club historians have offered to debate the subject, but so far the offer has not been accepted.

Yeah I don’t get this either. What I’ve seen presented it’s 1880. Still not seen something concrete to suggest it’s 1879.
