Some iffy starts by the batting teams in today's games.
Derbyshire 29/4 off 10 (Dave Fletcher has gone early with his view this might be all over by 4pm)
Notts 37/3
Worc 62/4.

Looks like Fletcher called it right. Watched Surrey they look fairly ordinary.
Cracking innings from Ollie Robinson currently on 166(117) with Kent 288/2 chasing 350.
Didn't see him bat like this for Kent.

Robinson got a double ton in the end

Yeah watched the stream of quite a bit of his innings he battled really well. Certainly didn't see that quality during his time at Durham.

I wanted to ask about any potential or interest in something happening with him or sowter at the members forum but they wrapped it up canny quick, since I'd already asked something I was conscious of letting others ask first then bam finished. And north had already alluded to not being able to afford players who didn't play all formats, wanted to ask if that applied to Clark and doneathy and any chance of adding white ball cricketers

I think if Eckersley goes which appears nailed on we will probably have to bring in a keeper to the squad in addition to Mckintosh. Not sure we could even just gamble on the loan system and even if Mckintosh turns out to be good enough it's a lot to ask a kid to keep wicket in all forms of the game for a full county season.

Agreed. If he gets injured we're playing.....?
We'd still need a wicket keeper for the 2nds anarl

Interesting comment given the profit made in the previous financial year.

Profit and revenue are different, but aye. Would love to have heard a more in-depth answer about if we could afford to have one day players like Clark, Robinson, sowter, doneathy(?) employed for white ball only

Absolutely, but the thin squad for this season whiffs of not enough cash being available, and the comment form WHED on here re: the state of the ground. There's a big posisbility that they'e been talking up heathly finances a bit than the truth warrants.
Not that I'm saying they're going bust, just that they're living on a mostly empty wallet.

The balance sheet is there for all to see from Companies House.
The operating profit figure is given as £1m.
Any accountants amongst up who can summarise the accounts in layman's terms?

They may just be being cautious and wanting to build up cash reserves which I'd be fine with .or perhaps it's to service ftecb debt which may gan through the books different
