I think we’ve seen enough of Angulo to be able to judge him tbf. But I agree with Jocelin, I thought he looked lively when he came on. Most of our wing options feel like development squad to me though. I don’t think any are poor, but compared to other areas on the pitch I think that’s our weakest area.

He only started 3 games, Mundle played far more football for us this season

- Whose contracts are we renewing
- Which players do we want to shift
- Which players will attract offers that we might sell reluctantly
- Which formation/style are we recruiting for

I think he says four for the first 11 and some to improve the 16 but it’s open to interpretation. I’m expecting six “ big” signings.
In terms of definite competition for first choice then LB, CB, CM, RW. For 16 then an additional CF and Versatile forward/10.

I think we may need possibly up to 5 ready made players of premier league standard at right wing, right back, left back, midfield and striker, plus at least another 4 younger players with potential in the squad. I think Angulo and Talbi will vie for the left wing position

Even without losing anyone, we definitely need more than two. Four good quality additions, without losing anyone, would be great. That said, I think we will lose one or two so they’ll need replacements on top of that total.

As said repeatedly we need another player of the stature/gravitas/quality etc of Xhaka

That won't be happening.

Xhaka, at the point we signed him, was a once in a lifetime signing.

People are going to be extremely disappointed if they think we'll be signing another especially only 12 months later, and to be honest it's a completely unfair expectation.

If we are going to add 2 to 4 to "help" starting 11 possibly squad similar to present then next season is going to be a very long old season.
Nearly all clubs will add 2 to 3, 1st teamers and we still have a lot of catchup to do to compete let alone progress. We need to add real quality not squad depth.

I don’t disagree, I just don’t think he’s at the standard of the rest of the starting lineup atm.

maybe I wasn’t clear in my last posts, I’m not saying I think any of our players are bad or won’t come good. I’m just looking at where a new signature would make the biggest impact. I think the wingers we have atm mostly look to be development options, and if we were to sign a fully developed player like a Jarred Bowen then it would improve us (and before anyone jumps on me for that example I know he won’t leave wistam)

Yes but the only way of developing them is by playing them.

That squad is lacking in midfield depth, a back up LB, good wingers, CB depth, strikers.

That’s 5 players at least we need, before departures.

I reckon teams will better understand how to play against us next season and therefore think we need more than 2 additions.

I'd argue we need a LB, DM, RW, ST and possible a LW too.

A winger and a forward is needed at the very least a Xhaka and Reinaldo replacement are needed so we can bed them in gradually. I think left back would be a more urgent signing than CM
