I have no idea if they are "certainly of a higher caliber than Gomez and Jones" as I have never heard of them. I don't watch French football and don't play Football Manager so haven't got a clue about them. I'll reserve judgement until I see them in the hurly burly of the Premier League before I class them as good signings. They could turn out to be decent players or they could turn out to be like the majority of the Mags French signings - poor.

They certainly are higher caliber than Gomez and Jones. One played in the championship last year and hardly set the world alight while in the prem......the other is very injury prone.
 
I've never heard of either player until they were linked to the mags. Not taking the piss or out. Are they actually any good?

But it shows how their scouts have noticed talent and considered the player. Obviously, they can go for more world class players like Sanchez and Cesc Fab. This does not mean that the step below is not good enough.

The proof will be in the performances mate. All I will say is that I would have been very happy if we bought the lad.

Whether a link becomes public or not is one thing but scouts at all major clubs will run the rule over every player in all of the top divisions of the main European leagues. That is their job and they will have done for Cabella and Giaccherini and they will have discounted them both along with hundreds of others every season.

Again, have already explained that. Look just wait and see. I could be completely wrong and I would be happy for that to be the case.

Least I can say, in my opinion the mags have signed a good player and it's worth the risk. Not just, he is unproven and signing for the mags so must be f***ing shit. No other club wanted him blah blah blah.
 
Does it matter? If they're as good Lee Ryder and Mark Douglas are making out then they'll be sold next summer to Real Barcelona Utd for £80m each.

Theres nothing wrong with rating the fella he may well turn out to become a good player. My issue is more with those that think NUFC are doing 'cracking business' when after a disastrous end to the season on top of losing Cabaye and Remy they also lose Debuchy. They are undoubtedly losing players that are very good and replacing them with players that may or may not be.
