RIP dad

I'm so sorry. It's the hardest thing life can throw at you, but I'm sure you'll come to find some comfort in watching the lads. That connection never goes. Hopefully the lads win it next week, just for you and your dad.

Sorry for your loss marra. A small comfort to see your Dad passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
Sincere condolences

Sorry for your loss, glad we got a win for him today. I know how tough it is as I’ve lost my Mum this week. Wasn’t a football fan but always wanted us to win for me and when he was still here my Dad. Take care.

So my dad passed away at 1655 today. We knew it was likely to be today and I planned to watch my last game with him even though we would only be there in body. Whatever happened today I was going to tell him that Luke had just lashed a screamer into the top corner to win it and we've finished 7th and are in Europe.

So I had the game on the laptop and the lads did us proud - He was unconscious and sedated and passed peacefully. I hope he heard some of my dodgy commentary. This was our 50th year of following the lads together. What a milestone.

He told me he picked out Sunderland in a 1956 FA cup draw at school which lead him to follow them. I'm not sure that's true as his dad and grandparents were from Shildon and Canny Hill..Either way I'm glad he did and passed that down to me.

Joanne Youngson was amazing and got me some Heaven Branch grass clippings in 24 hours so he had those on his pillow this afternoon. Thank you so much Joanne.

Sorry for this post, I just wanted to share the news that another MLF has passed.

He won't be here next week for Chelsea but I'lll still run through the match report with him. Cancer sucks. Haway the dad x
Sorry for your loss mate. Your dad will be there with you.

Sorry for your loss mate. I lost my Mam to cancer in February. Can’t put into words how much I miss her. Loads of love to your Dad, stay strong x

I am not a Sunderland fan but grit reading that.
Be proud through the tears and the pain. The Football Club means everything and the one thing that brought you together. The Club he handed to you and on a Sunday in Spring he left this World with a smile.
One thing I always hoped for was a Dad that shared what you’ve had. I can only hope that my kids have a heart, feelings and pride that you have sharing the memories both happy and sad following your beloved team.

He will always be with you and hope that gives you a crumb of comfort at this difficult period in time. You keep that head up and feel mighty proud.
Sunderland will always keep you together and RIP. Notwithstanding he was a wonderful Dad but he didn’t do that bad making you who you are and posting that.

You keep going Mate and carry his flag. That win was for you all.❤️
