Very interesting thread this one…
I’m currently looking at whether/how missus and me can retire at 60 (50 yo at present). I’ve had a couple of consultations with an IFA (The Private Office) there’ll be a point soon where I have to decide whether to go forward with their services.
Have people found that these IFA type of services are indispensable? My head is full questions about the right combo of mortgage overpayment, upping pension contributions, other investment options, tax efficiency.
My hunch is to engage with them so they can keep me on the right track, still part of me wonders whether I can research and manage things myself. Have others found IFA’s good value for money for this type of scenario?
Thanks in advance
