Forget about the 'headbutt' and the spitting.
He stops play to push an opponent.
Violent conduct. Red.
They're bricking it
Tend to agree that Pardew is just trying this out of desperation. The extra game he may incur would be Villa (H) so probably worth taking the chance.
However, the fact there's nine pages of this on a Sunderland forum would suggest that we are also bricking it in case he does get off and their main goalscoring threat is reinstated.
No it wasn't.Eh its out the side of his mouth and directed at a 6ft tall persons face.

Not seen on TV but surely simply raising hands and putting them on the opposition player is enough in today's rules? Before you even mention the headbutt...THIS IS A RED CARD OFFENCE......

Just went to look for examples of appeals being successful or not, look who is involved in the first one (and i dont mean Barton)http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...card-for-violent-conduct-in-Norwich-game.html
he was shite at our place
I didn't realise that's how it worked. I saw Zidane at Euro 96 and he was shite but I think he made a canny career out of the game.
