Removal Men. Is this unreasonable?

Have just agreed to a firm moving my gear. £300. Seems cheap but everything is boxed up. No electricals, etc.

35 crates, 4 couches and that's it. Easy job.

Specifically said "I WILL NOT BE LIFTING A FINGER ON THE DAY. YOU MUST DO THIS JOB KNOWING IN ADVANCE THAT THE PRICE AGREED IS MOVING EVERY ITEM ON THE LIST TOO AND FROM BOTH ADDRESSES BY YOURSELF AND YOUR STAFF. NO REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE DAY AND NO SMOKING WILL BE PERMITTED WITHIN 200 YARDS OF EITHER PREMISES OR OUR FURNITURE. IF THESE RULES ARE BROKEN WE WILL TAKE COURT ACTION AGAINST YOU AND NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WILL BE PLASTERED ALL OVER VARIOUS INTERNET SITES"
I'm amazed anybody agreed to do the job like.

This message to them never happened.

A decent company wouldn't expect the customer to help, it's their job. They also wouldn't smoke in someone's house.
Agreed. I would still stay well away from a potential customer sticking that at the end of the job offer. Maybe that's just me tho.

He's a wanker and proud of it.
You have to get things straight with these people from the off. If I hadn't said owt they'd have been sat out the back of the van eating greggses and tabbing it every few minutes.

I hate it when I need to work with people beneath me.
Joking aside though imagine they pull out the street on that a day the whole street move in and it is littered with dairylea dippers, fun sized topic and cheese strings wrappers man. I'm going to look a right scroat.

Low Fell were the best company I've used. Knew what they were doing and just got on with the job. Took anything apart that needed to be taken part but put it all back together in the relevant rooms. Worth the money for taking away any unwanted stress on the day.

I have worked in the removal industry for years as surveyor/Branch manager albeit mainly in the south and for the higher end of removals. If you have really sent this I wouldn't be surprised if on the day no one turns up, you have gone to a broker not a removal company which means any man and van can bid for the work. Simple maths once you take into account wages, fuel, cost of the van should ring alarm bells when paying £300! If its as easy as you say then maybe you will get lucky but who ever takes this job will have done so expecting it to take half a day.

All I can say is good luck!

I would simply have the money returned and his unblemished feedback would be tarnished.
