Came through our academy, we had high hopes for him at one stage, similar vein to Declan Rudd (Preston), but he never really cracked on. He'll have a career at League One/Two level for me. Average at this level, neither here nor there. Won't be a game-changer.

so as I said, we need to stop buying shit players who cant perform in front of a crowd, and dont blame the supporters
I honestly don't think I'm blaming the supporters.
Using Grigg as an example on paper he looked like a good player to buy. It's not worked for him here so he gets justifiable grief from the fans.
Not every player we buy will work out and that is something a Premier league club will have to consider
It’s is yes, but if a kid is going to go on and be a top player, what better a place to learn that at a big club, with a big following, send him to say another club in our division and bar maybe 1 our 2 he will not get the experience he would get coming to us, we still have good training g facilities and a nice big stadium, if I was sending my premiership youngsters out safc would be the top target to get them to
I agree with that but playing for us at this level carries huge expectations its whether or not a team thinks its younger players are capable of carrying that burden on their shoulders

I can not argue with that mind, which should mean if we are getting loans we should get the best as they should be able to carry the weight of safc and our expectations on there young shoulders, what would you honestly want of a young loanee? I would like some quality and someone who will give it everything when they are hear, if there are not going to give it there all(previous experiences says some don’t?) then they will be wasting our time and there own.
As for grigg if he looked like he was giving it his all the fans would not get in his back so much, there will always be fans that will give certain players stick but the hard workers usually get a little less, I’m not or perfect towards the players but it’s only the ones who I think are not giving it a go

Tin hat on time but would a Premier league team want to loan a young keeper to us knowing that if we have a poor start to the season then the crowd (when we are allowed back in) could get toxic.
Whilst we have every right to show our displeasure it can't be seen as the optimum condition for a young lad learning his trade especially in such an important position
dint do shay given any harm ,but then again we were playing well at the time but was hoyed in the deep end

Him and burge as our first two keepers is up their with Lee camp being first choice

It really isn't, was one of Bolton's better players at championship level and last season. Burge is also one of the better cover options in the league.

It makes the Garbutt signing even more strange. If the salary cap is hamstringing us when not invested that money on the areas we are struggling with. A good keeper is as important as a striker, which we also need. I'm not too happy with this signing as we are weaker in a key position.

On the plus side he's only 26 which is young for a keeper.

I think some people would only be happy if they signed a keeper they'd heard of. Like Kasper Schmiechel, maybe. Or Pickford.

Just bollocks.

We're into our 3rd season in this division and I can't believe how many people still can't wrap their heads around the fact we'll be signing most players for free. Signing players we haven't seen play or heard of is an occupational hazard of being in L1.
