Interesting point made on the Wisden cricket podcast - despite scoring huge volume of runs at 3 in CC and taking wickets bowling spin, rather than replacing Pope or Bashir in an England XI, is he more likely to replace Stokes once he retires from tests (maybe after Ashes) as a top 6 batter who is a very good bowling option to relive front line bowlers.

He's still got a way to go as a top 3 batsman. So makes sense to me, we should be blood more players at 6 before they move up tbh.

Scoring lots of runs in Div 2 against a Kookaburra isn't exactly replicating the test match arena.

Zak Crawley being a shining example of how a guy with a grounding in mainly Div 2 cricket has faired at test level.
 
Now I like Rehan with the bat, but if there is a proper injury for Crawley surely you pick Salt or Banton and give them time in the middle

You know given they’re going to play in a World Cup soon?
