Regis le Bris - confirmed

Sadly, although we have large fan base home and away, this means very little in today's money-dominated game. The revenue from ticket sales, (of course less the extra cost of maintaining a larger stadium) pales into insignificance next to TV money. Bournemouth can do very well with 11k attendance, Brentford with 17k. A large fanbase does not a premier league side make, any more than a proud (ancient) history does.
That may be true but the size of our support is a positive which helps when looking at attracting staff and sponsors. We can also be very useful with psr, if the club utilised us correctly.

So if Regis believes we can win this I hope to god he doesn’t sit back and hope to keep it tight in hope our home game will win it.
If we end up parked in our own half he’s clearly a lost cause.
Im hoping my gut feeling in him is way off and he has a little bit of tactical awareness for these x2 games.
We must create chances, let’s hope he’s played a blinder and we’re all being played for fools.
The play off matches 35 years ago against Newcastle United back up what you say.

I was at both games, the first one at Roker was a tight affair, we missed the chance to go into the 2nd leg 1-0 up with Paul Hardyman's late penalty miss.

Finished 0-0 and Newcastle must have thought they were through.

Of course we had other ideas and won the 2nd leg at St. James 2-0.

The thing about the game after Gatesy put us 1 up in the first half is that we continued to throw men forward looking for the 2nd goal, and we rode our luck a bit with Newcastle coming close on a few occasions.

In the 2nd half it was more managing the game and hitting them on the break, they barely had a sniff and Marco hit the 2nd goal late on.

We have to go for it a bit in the first leg as you say.

This is a massive long shot,

But can anyone confirm if Le Bris took training on Friday 4th of April? Bizarre question, I know.

@Hetty?

Doesn't answer your question I know, but he did the pre-WBA press conference on the 3rd and then we had WBA on the 5th.

5 defeats in a row as it stands; if we have a poor play offs, do you replace him or stick with him? Genuinely interested to see what the general consensus is on here

I get the impression that the way the club is currently set-up then we'll fall short no matter who's in charge of the first team. Can hardly say he's been supported in player recruitment to the same level as those that have finished above us.

There's photos from training on 4th April and there's no clear photos of him. There is one that looks like it could be him in the background with his hands in his pockets like he does, but its really not obvious

That's never, ever going to be the case for a non-parachute payment side though.

The 3 teams that finished above us are, in sure everyone will agree, operating on a different planet financially as a result of same.

It is also worth pointing out that the club completely tore to shreds their wage structure to bring Le Fee in, just a few months ago. Yes, it's one player, but they did go above and beyond to get it done and he was obviously RLB's man.

There's quite a bit of revisionism on here lately as I think we were all reasonably happy with our summer window (Browne and Mepham bringing in the experience that was said to be lacking), Salis a player who had proven capable at CL level, Moore an experienced backup to Patterson, Aleksic a very highly rated talent, plus Isidor too.

Was it perfect? No. Could we have done with more? Fans of every club would always say yes.

We absolutely could have done with full back cover (I made a thread about it at the time and it did come home to roost soon after) and the Danns signing was a disaster, but up until our poor run over the last couple of months there wasn't much criticism of our transfer business as a whole.
