Regis le Bris - confirmed

Fair point, although it has to be in Speakman's interests for this lad to succeed. Another Beale scenario would surely serve to weaken his position?
I don't dislike Speakman as much as the rest of the board, but it does feel like he's got the real power at the club day to day. Particularly with all the manager turnover. I think the club is definitely at an inflection point this season, but I'm still optimistic we can sell a player or two at a profit. Once that happens, I hope we spend what we need to secure a striker and stretch the wage structure a little for future windows. Call me a happy clapper, but this beats the hell out of League One.

It was difficult to form any strong opinion of RLB during pre-season games but I was really pleased with our performance and win at Cardiff. I was daring to hope we might have found a good coach. A lot of posters have suggested he will be a 'yes' man but I saw no evidence of that until the Preston match.

A lot of fans on here have said we shouldn't get worked up about getting knocked out of the League Cup with our 'second' team. Getting knocked out is not what bothers me. RLB's whole approach to the game does though. The eleven changes was excessive but he should have had the first eleven on the bench to bring on if the game was going against us. He had only O'Nien, Neil and Hume yet they remained unused. Even when we were losing and Preston were bringing on subs he failed to act. Eventually he took off our best player in Rigg who was trying to lift the crowd and his teammates.

Noone could convince me that our management wanted to win that game. So I think that unfortunately RLB is going to be a 'yes' man.

Could he not have been trying to prove a point that the fringe players are shite and he needs more competitive players for depth?

You can’t make a conclusion on anyone based off 1 league and 1 cup game man.

I think the problem in those two games were he played every fringe player rather than a mixture of first teamers and fringe, made everyone look poor rather than individually.
Was a very poor mistake for the Preston game imo

We looked like a well coached team against Cardiff, particularly in our defence shape and saw a very professional performance (something that was lacking last season)

Sunday’s game will give us another opportunity to see the work RLBs putting in with the players on the training ground. I’m really looking forward to what should be a good match.

If he did it to prove the fringe players weren’t good enough then fair play, nobody knows his thought process behind it but the fact people are alluding to him not picking the team (like some did all of last season) is ludicrous.

Fact is for me, there’s only 3 or 4 players who played in that Preston game who I’d have anywhere near the first team like, the rest wouldn’t get a game in League One.

Personally I really like him.

Against Cardiff we had good shape and pressed well as a team. Yes, they were shit and offered nothing going forward - but we dealt with them effectively.

Preston was a write off with the team we put out, but there were some promising moments in the first half.

Sheff Wed on Sunday will be a good test.

Moore Rigg Triantis mundle ba adil are more than capable

Moore Rigg Triantis mundle ba adil are more than capable
Moore - alright as number 2 and experienced
Rigg - don’t really need to talk about him
Triantis - get him loaned out, not good enough (yet)
Mundle - headless chicken
Ba - hot and (mostly) cold, probably needs a loan
AA - I believe he will make a big impact this season

Ones I’d have near the 1st team would be:
Ekwah
Rigg
AA
Rusyn (cos we have no choice)
