Regis le Bris - confirmed

Haway man. We released a statement saying we were in the final stages of making an appointment. It’s been widely reported that the hold up with this bloke has been getting his work permit. It hardly takes a genius to work it out.

Safc haven't realised a statement to that effect ....a journo did ( and that might be speculation) ... not official

Which you're regurgitating

In fact the club havnt released any info re RLB

Still not fact. Try harder

Why do the happy clappers always have to be deliberately obtuse? They say things like 'give him a chance' and 'get behind him' implying people underwhelmed by this appointment want SAFC to now get relegated. Of course we'll give him a chance, I'd love to see him hit the ground running.

His success largely depends on who the owners sign and sell this window. If it's more of the same of buying inexperienced kids then he is going to struggle. Especially if they sell Clarke, Neil, Ballard... I think they've hired this bloke because he apparently has a good reputation developing young players, so that sounds to me like we won't be signing experience.

On the flip side, why do the twisty kernts dismiss everything without debate?

Why have you not posted the previous seasons where most years they were top half?

Are the more recent 10 year not more relevant like? It’s not like I’d left any of their good years out!

The 10 seasons before that were:
04/05 - 14th in Ligue 2
05/06 - 3rd in Ligue 2
06/07 - 14th in Ligue 1
07/08 - 10th in Ligue 1
08/09 - 10th in Ligue 1
09/10 - 7th in Ligue 1
10/11 - 11th in Ligue 1
11/12 - 17th in Ligue 1
12/13 - 8th in Ligue 1
13/14 - 8th in Ligue 1

I think arguing that Lorient have been a midtable Ligue 1 team because they had 8 or so seasons in the last 20 years there, in amongst some time spent in the lower division, is like arguing that we’re basically a premier league team because we had 11 seasons there in the same period…

I sincerely hope Cyril hits the ground running, but he doesn’t come across as the most charismatic of blokes and the fact he has the same agent as a few of the players is not ideal in my opinion, we shall see.

Tbf, even if we signed purely 35 year olds this summer he'd still need to be developing young players as that's all we have

I don’t massively care…just questioning the assertion that RLB getting relegated with reported record low points is not a poor reflection on him because it’s ’to be expected’
