Haway man. We released a statement saying we were in the final stages of making an appointment. It’s been widely reported that the hold up with this bloke has been getting his work permit. It hardly takes a genius to work it out.
Why do the happy clappers always have to be deliberately obtuse? They say things like 'give him a chance' and 'get behind him' implying people underwhelmed by this appointment want SAFC to now get relegated. Of course we'll give him a chance, I'd love to see him hit the ground running.
His success largely depends on who the owners sign and sell this window. If it's more of the same of buying inexperienced kids then he is going to struggle. Especially if they sell Clarke, Neil, Ballard... I think they've hired this bloke because he apparently has a good reputation developing young players, so that sounds to me like we won't be signing experience.
It's a stretch to call Dodds an appointment when he was just filling in like Sbragia did under Quinn.
Why have you not posted the previous seasons where most years they were top half?![]()
The bricks…
I sincerely hope Cyril hits the ground running, but he doesn’t come across as the most charismatic of blokes and the fact he has the same agent as a few of the players is not ideal in my opinion, we shall see.Why do the happy clappers always have to be deliberately obtuse? I don’t massively care…just questioning the assertion that RLB getting relegated with reported record low points is not a poor reflection on him because it’s ’to be expected’Are the more recent 10 year not more relevant like? It’s not like I’d left any of their good years out!![]()
The 10 seasons before that were:
04/05 - 14th in Ligue 2
05/06 - 3rd in Ligue 2
06/07 - 14th in Ligue 1
07/08 - 10th in Ligue 1
08/09 - 10th in Ligue 1
09/10 - 7th in Ligue 1
10/11 - 11th in Ligue 1
11/12 - 17th in Ligue 1
12/13 - 8th in Ligue 1
13/14 - 8th in Ligue 1
I think arguing that Lorient have been a midtable Ligue 1 team because they had 8 or so seasons in the last 20 years there, in amongst some time spent in the lower division, is like arguing that we’re basically a premier league team because we had 11 seasons there in the same period…

And yet he was APPOINTED interim head coach so you’re wrong
Given they finished 16th in an 18 team division that seems unlikely.
Very beale-esqe
Quite possible, however shouldn’t be over looked given the warnings we got from rangers fans, on the subject of bealeNot surprising, they’ve just been relegated![]()

He might mean in Lorient’s top flight history? I dunno.Given they finished 16th in an 18 team division that seems unlikely.
All depends if you consider an INTERIM head coach the same as permanent one who's been through a full interview process.
I'll now call Quinn the worst manager we've ever had![]()
