Regis le Bris - confirmed

For every McKenna there's a lot of gambles that don't pay off.

We need someone to deal with with the difficulties that Speakman puts on the head coach. I think that takes experience, like a Tony Mowbray.

And we have had more than our fair share of gambles that didn’t pay off.

I’m not the most pessimistic person when it comes to the club. I just wait for things to happen and accept it. But I understand the reasoning. For years us fans have suffered failure after failure. Disappointment after disappointment. We have not had anything to properly celebrate and shout about in what seems like decades. Promotion was a small glimmer of hope for better times to come. But nothing before or after had materialised that points to more successful years in store. Successive poor owners, players and coaches/managers have beaten any hope for success in the future out of them. Once bitten twice shy. If the likes of Johnson and Parkinson weren’t able to change our fortunes around why would he be any different?

Sadly it seems that the owners see us as a feeder club for the likes of Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth and the illustrious Crystal Palace.

Like most safc fans, my expectations of the season ahead are now set to avoiding relegation.
The same Palace who have one or two players in the national side.

There’s people on this thread saying this bloke is too old. Honestly the club can’t win

Bingo
They can't win. Well that's wrong - they could. Won 4 out of their last 20.

Going to be difficult to adapt to a new country with limited management experience. And then have to deal with the challenges of working for Speakman. As I say a bit of experience would be better to paper over the cracks.

lorient fans on the forum seem delighted to be getting rid and can't believe we are having to give them money for him. Doesn't bode well.
