Regis le Bris - confirmed

Proof? Names?

It's pretty common knowledge that in no particular order the club went for Maric, Svensson, Still, Rosenior, Jansen, and Cifuentes throughout the process.

The fact that some fans will swallow this nonsense that the club only ever wanted Still and then le Bris is precisely why we're yet again in this ridiculous situation of yet another botched managerial recruitment process.

I'm sure you'll all be taken in by the "Regis was always our first choice" shite that will come in the press release too.

He didn’t. If there was an actual five man shortlist, and Downie had known, he’d have reported on that a while ago.

The “five man shortlist, this guy was always one of them” line, is blatantly just what the club has fed to Downie today. It’s to give Speakman a bit of cover for the press conference, in which he won’t want to tell the truth.

“We made such a colossal arse of the recruitment process, that in the end we just panicked and settled for this fella”.
Agreed. On paper it looks an absolute desperate appointment

I see Fishpaste reckons Le Bris has the same agent in France as Ba, Aouchiche and Pembele.

This “data” driven approach does seem to end up in the same places, an awful lot of the time.

I’m certainly prepared to give him a chance. I do see some positive and negative vibes but for me who he has as Assistant Manager will fully make the difference. After the awful Beale/Dodds the last thing we want is the same mistake.

The five number is probs right

In the context he's 5th choice

With porte-parole, french for speakman! giving the nod, and will no doubt have La Dodds and Proctor, on the coaching staff!

As always he'll live or die by results.
I for one will be right behind him and wish him all the best. I like the fact he's multi-lingual which for our squad, is important. Looking forward to seeing what he can do.

We haven't agreed on a lot in recent years I don't think, but I agree with all of the above.

Sadly, the amount of people who are being taken in by it is reflective of how this shite keeps happening.

Apparently we were never really interested in anyone apart from Still and then le Bris

He will get a chance. It’s an underwhelming appointment on paper, and nobody believes he was anywhere near the top of the shortlist - but everyone wants him to succeed. He’s also an unknown quantity, which will buy him a lot more time than Beale with the supporters. The problem Beale had is that people knew who he was - and that they don’t like him - before he got here.

You're gonna be very disappointed then!

'5 man shortlist' is a creative way of saying '5th person to be offered the job, 1st to accept it'
