Regis le Bris - confirmed

He’s an absolute genius. I love his cool calm authority.

I’m also pleased we didn’t get Still in the end. I still follow him on Instagram and think he’s a bit of an egomaniac and I think we would have got fed up of his whorish social media behaviour. Beale was also very mentally fragile and had issues with social media.

Le Bris is far too cool for insta. I like that we don’t really know much about him at all, just that he is cool as and all about le football.

Expecting to be brought back down earth against Pompey.

So did I - even though they are fresh up from L1.
Tough, physical, uncompromising, lots of shithousery.

Water off a duck's back (or canard if you prefer) to the lads under RLB's guidance.
Long may this winning run last.

Although the match wasn't easy on the eye at times, I though the team were excellent today. Portsmouth tried to be direct and physical and the lads simply outclassed them. The midfield were too good and their pedigree and quality outshone the physicality of Portsmouth. The trio of browne, rigg and job especially were outstanding. Rlb going to have a major decision when for the next match with Neil.

I keep coming back to that word 'CALM' and what he's done is somehow get the players out of the traps with a real calmness about themselves and crucially, the Team as a whole are playing consistently and a very good team performance and shows once again that it doesn't matter about experience, or the best individuals but the team is what matters.

Don't know how long he can keep this going, but so far very impressed with the new Coach.
Something I learned about him the other day is that he's got a doctorate in sports mental training and psychology. Would explain how he seems to have managed to get some self-belief back into these lads.

My guess is that he was always on the list of potentials but his lack of actual experience as Head Coach, despite his age, counted against him.

Once our main options turned us down we went for the gamble.

I said this on the match thread earlier.

Our play away from home is night and day compared to at the sol.

Our press is nowhere near as aggressive. We practically tempt the opposition onto us and hardly press until they’re right on us then counter.

Compare that to at home where the oppo don’t get a second.
He uses the atmosphere perfectly. At home he gets us going by being on them from minute 1. He understands that the crowd will react to a tackle etc, away from him he gets the opponents crowd frustrated they come at us but can’t get through end up forcing long passes and crosses then they moan when we score. It’s perfect

Thats actually pretty interesting and speaks to what i guessed at. The challenges is were still seriously short and entirely dependent on team performances and players will dip and our man might look to drop or rest players and the bosses obsessesd with player value will tell him x or y player cant be dropped. Ive always saw football as something on two levels and team performance is critical and the plan b is driven in the individual player finding some extra gear e g. When man u played poorly, you would see a man like keane carrying the team, or a cantona producing some brilliance. Not convinced we have big players and that is the upcoming challenge

Love how calm and levelheaded he seems. Never gets carried away and always looking to improve.

His post match assessments are class. When thrown a soft ball by the club media man about the midfield having control he corrected him quite calmly. That’d have him classified as a moaner on here like but it’s really good he doesn’t go overboard and keeps it measured

Psychology at root is about stripping away the lies and by telling the truth you actually start to heal. Our man seems to want to operate entirely in reality and one of the obstacles i thought a week ago is the bosses at the club, i dont think live in reality.... Of course after the derby sell out my own views of the owner and his mates is also biased and my analysis is the new coach might have the same epiphany as mowbray had.
