Having a teenage player responsible for getting their manager tickets to Champions League games smh. Last season was one of the oddest conflicts of interest in professional football.

That is probably true but we need to put that behind us and support him ....the key is support coming from KLD and speakman,not that wishy washy bollocks of before but real support aimed at a promotion push this year as our fans deserve no less and its got to a point that we will take no more spin from our owners ..hands in pockets,pull out some shillings and buy some players fit for purpose!

This article is a bit easier to read in my opinion but he’s getting the final say on what coaches come in and is picking people he feels we need. Set piece coach is a big one. But looks like because he inherited staff at Lorient he hasn’t got a regular guy he trusts as assistant yet

He wasn't - Not really
We played some of the best footy I've seen when he was a coach
We played some of the worst when he was a manager
The players obviously like him and rate him - would you let your son sign a contract with safc when other clubs were after him if you and he thought Dodds was shite? (Chris Rigg)

You could call it an educationed guess based on he was coach in a promotion and play off side. Contrasting that against being manager of a side that nose dived

He was also first team and head coach of a team who in 2024 had the worst form in the league and who's performances and playing style had gone backwards prior to that.

So I'd say as fans who only see what happens on the pitch the jury is very much out on whether he is a good coach or not and anyone who categorically states he is good coach is guessing just as much as someone who says he's too close to the players.

But the only thing anyone can go off is when he was manager & the football was negative, boring & produced very bad results, maybe he did a bit of individual coaching before, when was coach, but but Mowbray’s team the same players and Dodds team is like night and day.

To be fair even if he wanted to bring staff from Lorient I don’t think they would have got permits. It was a nightmare for him and he’s worked in the top job and was taking the top job here. Normal coaches would have really struggled to get one if they havn’t worked in England before

Whilst I appreciate Speakman’s sentiment that we are actively recruiting, it’s frustrating going into pre season without an established coaching team to help the players hit the ground running.
